Here's Part 2.

"You make weapons for the Fire Nation?" Sokka exclaims. "Explain all this. Now!" Teo demands. With a heavy heart the mechanist explained how Fire Nation soldiers found their settlement and had threaten to burn everything to the ground, "They asked what I had to offer. I offered them my services." Teo turns away, unable to look at his father.

Aang, Steve, and Teo walk into the study where the mechanist was tinkering with an old invention. "When are the soldiers coming?" Steve asks. "Soon," the mechanist looks at the time candles, "very soon." "You can't give them more weapons," Aang says. "If I don't give them what they want they will destroy this place," the mechanist replies with worry. "How can I be proud of you when your inventions are being used for murder?" Teo asks. "Your son has a point," Steve comments, "I've seen this before. You might think you're saving this place but if you keep giving these bullies what they want they'll only keep demanding more from you. More people will get hurt and soon, you may all get hurt too." "I need some time to think," the mechanist sighs right before a bell goes off. "You need to leave. Go." the mechanist pleads. "We're not leaving," Teo says with a firm tone. "Then hide, quickly!" The mechanist urges.

Once well hidden, the mechanist opens the trap door for the Fire Nation War minister who was not in a good mood. "You know better than to keep me waiting. Give me what you owe us so I can be on my way," the war minister demands impatiently. The mechanist hesitates, "Well?" The war minister becomes more impatient, "Is there a problem?" "No, right this way." The door suddenly slams shut and Aang jumps out to block the door. "The deal's off." "The Avatar!" the war minister exclaims. "Aang, don't get involved," the mechanist pleads. "If I don't get what I came for, the Fire Nation will burn this place to rubble," the war minister threatens. "Get out of here!" Aang sends a small wind blast towards the war minister's face, "You're leaving empty handed." "Then the destruction of this temple will be on your head!" Without another word, the war minister leaves.

"We can't get involved in this," Natasha states. "We can't just sit back and do nothing," Steve retorts, "Lives will be on the line. We have to help." "I have to agree with Nat on this one," Clint quips, "I know you're thinking like a soldier, Cap, but we've only seen a fraction of what this Fire Nation is capable of; we practically have no idea what we're up against." "We don't," Steve agrees, "but our new friends do. And even so, we have the high ground, which means we have the advantage." "The people here know this place better the Fire Nation," Natasha observes, "And they know how to harness the air. Maybe they can win this." "They might," Steve quips, "but that shouldn't stop us from helping."

Meanwhile the rest of the group along with Teo congregate to the outside part of the temple. "This is bad," Sokka states, "Very bad." "Aang, what are we gonna do?" Katara asks with worry, "How can we possibly keep them all away?" "I'll tell you how," Aang replies, "We have something they don't. Air power. We control the sky; that's something the Fire Nation can't do. We can win." "I want to help," the mechanist approaches the group which made Teo smile. "Count us in too," Steve calls out as he, Clint, and Natasha join. "Good," Aang comments, "We'll need it." The mechanist pulls Steve aside, "You were right about what you said back there, young man," he confesses to Steve, "I've been living in fear for too long. For the sake of everyone here and for Teo's sake, it's time I stand up to the Fire Nation." Steve nods with understanding.

The gang along with Teo, the mechanist, and the temple residents gather in the study to plan for the attack. There Sokka and the mechanist briefly discuss how they managed to get the war balloon to function along with the types of bombs they have to use against the soldiers.

Soon everyone prepares for battle. Gliders were prepped, Sokka and the mechanist ready the war balloon, and Clint keeps a lookout for the attack. "Looks like we get to see that shield in action after all," Nat says to Steve as he gets in place. "They're coming!" Clint calls, "Two minutes tops!" "Where's Sokka with the war balloon?" Katara asks worried, "We'll have to start without it," Aang turns his staff into a glider. Soon, the gliders take off.

As the Fire Nation soldiers march up the mountain to the temple, Aang and Teo lead the glider brigade towards the soldiers where they bombard them with smoke and slime bombs. Aang uses his air scooter move to create an avalanche to bury the soldiers in snow. Several feet above, Katara, Natasha and Steve are on top Appa handing bombs to passing gliders to hurl at the soldiers.  "Hawkeye," Natasha calls to Clint on her comm, "Status report." "The soldiers are staring to retreat," Clint responds, "Looks like this will be an easy win." Right when Clint says that trouble strikes in the form of grappling hooks. On the other end of those hooks were tanks. "Okay, I spoke too soon," Clint admits. The gliders through both slime and smoke bombs at the tanks but had no effect. Aang tries to knock out the grappling hook but that tank had another hook on its other end. The firebenders inside the tanks unleash their fire towards the gliders who do their best to dodge the attacks.

The gliders through more bombs as the tanks advance further towards the temple; even Clint's explosive arrows had little effect on them. Aang attempts to turn the tanks over but that was no good either. "Those things are unstoppable," Katara states on top Appa. "I don't suppose you would know how to stop them, Cap," Natasha asks Steve. "They're not like the HYDRA tanks from the war," Steve replies, "Still they need to have some sort of weakness." "I think I know how they work," Teo reasons from his glider, "I remember my dad tinkering with a counterbalancing system. Something to do with water." This gave Katara an idea. Guiding Appa closer, she jumps in front of Aang and guides ice in the tanks and manipulates it to expand and dismantle the tank in front of her and another tank on her right. It was working but there were too many tanks to fend off. "Uh-oh, looks like they can use some help," Nat states. "On it," Steve grabs his shield and jumps off Appa. He lands in front of Aang and Katara and throws his shield which bounces off the tanks and returns back to him. "Wow, that shield really does work as a weapon," Aang says surprised. More tanks approach and Nat guides Appa to turn them over so Aang, Katara, and Steve could get on and retreat.

Back at the temple, it looked like they were going to lose this fight. Suddenly the war balloon appears right on time with Sokka and the mechanist on board. "How come the soldiers aren't attacking the balloon?"Clint notices, "It must be the insignia," Nat concludes, "They probably think its on their side." Right than Sokka cuts the ropes and drop the slime bombs on the army. Although they took out the soldiers, the extra slime did nothing to stop the tanks. It all looked hopeless as the tanks sent their grappling hooks to pull them directly to the temple. Luckily Sokka had one more idea. Noticing where natural gas was escaping, he takes the war balloon's fuel source and tosses it where the gas was. This resulted in a large explosion which took out the tanks and sent the soldiers in retreat. Everyone cheered. Sokka and the mechanist, however were going down with the war balloon; fortunately Aang saves them both by using his glider to pull them both back to the temple.

-----------------------Time Skip------------------------------

"I have to admit, Sokka, that was pretty bold using the war balloon's fuel source as a bomb," Natasha compliments. "Well, I don't want to brag but it was a spur of the moment thing if you know what I'm talking about," Sokka replies confidently which made Katara roll her eyes. "That shield of yours is pretty amazing, Steve," Teo says than turns to Clint, "Those arrows aren't bad either." "You know what," Aang says to Teo and the mechanist, "I'm glad you all live here now. Steve was right; sometimes change is not such a bad thing after all. I realize it's like the hermit crab. Maybe you weren't born here, but you found this empty shell and made it your home, and now you protect each other." "That means a lot coming from you," Teo replies. "Aang, you were right about air power," Sokka quips, "As long as we got the skies, we'll have the Fire Nation on the run." Everyone cheered to that statement.
