Saga's POV
I wrapped my cold hand around my throat, feeling my heart beat pulse threw my palm. The cold contact on my neck made me shiver. I removed my hand and looked ahead of me, the snow icing the ground. My feet crunching the frozen leaves beneath my boots, my fur coat hung loosely on my shoulders as the cold wind blew over my hands and cheeks. I looked at my fingers, frosty and blue. I wiggled them weakly, they felt numb and like air. My hot breath hit my hands I blew on them purposely. I held my slightly heated hands around my cheeks.
I continued walking down the long hall of trees, shivering as the wind tangled my hair in the breeze, I felt numb as if I was now nothing but frozen air floating endlessly, I reached a slope ahead of the trees. I carefully scoped out the slope. Lifting my heavy arrows off my back and slowly sliding down the slope till I reached the bottom. I stood there, I lifted my canteen from my belt and shook it.
I sighed deeply drinking the water I could get from the frozen water. I lift my arrows and wrap them on my back and make my way up slope, almost tumbling from the numb feeling in my legs. It hurt, felt like needles jabbing my soft flesh.
I reached the top, nothing but endless fields covered in chilled snow. Hot tears streamed down my cold cheeks, felt like stinging icicles taper down my cheeks.
I kept walking, sniffling with heavy breathing. My skin was burning from all the wind that I walked threw. It had gotten darker, the cold suffocating my body in the cold air. I missed my father, although I barely remember what happened that evening. I was to young, but I narrowly remember what I witnessed and why he told me to run as fast as I could. I was young, too young.
Ahead of me were bright objects. I ran, the Gods are not going to let me die I thought. It was a rather big village, filled with excited voices, melody to my ears. I draw near the log gate. I inspect the guard towers. I towards the gate. "WHO GOES THERE?" I hear a loud shout from the towers. I lift up cautiously, seeing not even a shadow. "I mean no conflict!" I shouted back still startled. "WHERE HAVE YOU COME FROM?" I look up still searching for the source of this voice.
"From farther up North, I have been traveling or a lengthy amount of time. I have no people." I said hollering back. "WAIT HERE AS I BRING KING LOTHBROK." I nodded. I heard steps from the guard tower. I look up at the sky, my feet feel weightless, my heart barely pounding. I feel bitter, I'm frozen. My attention stirs to the large gate opening swiftly.
To large men walk forward. The one in front with his arms crossed behind is back. My red hair brushes against the wind. "What is your name?" He asked calmly, I examine him before responding. His long ponytail hangs tightly on his head, He seems young. "Saga, Saga Dame" He tilts his head with a malicious smile plastered on his face"I don't recall your name" I looked at him.
"It wouldn't I am not distinguished for anything remotely special" I said tilting my head. He snickers quietly. "I am Ragnar Lothbrok" My soft smirk disappears from his name being said. " Do you recognize it Saga, Saga Dame?" I feel lost. My body trembles from the cold. The dark. I feel at ease from the gaping darkness engulfing my mind.
