"You've got to be kidding me!" Alec Lightwood cried as he entered his cabin to find Magnus Bane. The most liked guy at camp. He was openly bisexual and very popular here at Camp Idris. Alec had heard rumours that he has been here every summer since he was a child which would explain why he had gained this much popularity. Alec had only been at this camp twice. His last summer a living hell. He had no idea who anyone was nor was he in anyway liked. Not even his bunk mate liked him. The only person who had grown a liking to Alec was he himself Magnus Bane. And no. Before you ask, he was not liked by this boy the way a best friend would like him. He "liked" him liked him. Which meant he had the biggest crush on Alec. Every time he saw Alec he would flirt with him in some way shape or form. But Alec wasn't having any of it. He even made sure Magnus knew it. Last year on their last day of camp Magnus attempted to kiss Alec. Alec snapped at Magnus and demanded he stay away from him which broke poor Magnus' heart. Alec didn't mean to hurt the other male. But he needed to let him know he wasn't into him. He would have apologized to him but they were made to leave the camp early due to a storm that would happen later that night. So he never had the chance. He feared ever since that day that Magnus had a grudge against him for what he had done. He had begged his parents to let him stay home that summer but they sent him anyway. Thankfully though, now that he was 17 he could make his own choices next year. "Alexander Lightwood." Magnus said in the most teasing tone Alec had ever heard. "We meet again." He smiled as he sat on his top bunk, nonchalantly sipping a cup of what Alec thought to be iced water through a straw. "I can't believe this is actually happening.." he groaned as he tossed his bags to the side of the room. "Don't worry. I've tried talking to them about putting you into another room. But I haven't been lucky enough to have that wish granted." Magnus chuckled, rolling his eyes. Alec shook his head, exhaling a deep breath of annoyance through his nostrils. "How kind of you." He scoffed as he sat down on the small couch that was provided for them. All Alec wanted was to go home and stay there. He hated being at this place with every fibre of his being. Magnus climbed down from his bunk and walked over to Alec. "You know what? It's nice to see you again Alec. I didn't think you would have wanted to come back here and face me again after what happened last summer." Magnus shrugged, a smug smile on his lips. Alec sighed. Knowing this would happen eventually. "Look..About that..I'm sorry okay? I didn't mean to snap at you the way I did.." he frowned, remembering everything that happened that day. "Oh?" Magnus asked. "Then why did you?" He questioned as he took another sip of his water. Alec was becoming frustrated now. Not sure why Magnus was pushing this farther. "I've apologized okay? Isn't that what you wanted?" Alec asked as he got to his feet and made his way to the other side of the room. Magnus slowly turned to face him. A hurt look on his face. "Are you being serious?!" The older male cried in disbelief. "I can't believe such a beautiful boy like you can be so fucking insensitive!" He thundered. Slamming his drink down onto the table next to him. "You humiliated me! In front of the entire camp!" Magnus shouted. "Of course I'm going to want to know why you've done what you did!" He hissed as he stepped closer to Alec. "I've sent the entire year wanting to know why you've shouted at me like that. I wanted to know why you didn't tell me that you didn't feel the same for me when you have had so many chances to do so. I've flirted with you all summer Alec, All summer! And you never pushed me away. Not until I tried to kiss you. You've had me thinking that you liked me. If I would have known you didn't have any interest in me I never would have attempted to kiss you. But no! You decided that breaking my heart was the perfect way to go!" Magnus cried, tears lurching in his throat. Alec turned to face Magnus. His heart shattering the moment he heard Magnus' voice crack. "I..I broke your heart?.." Alec asked guiltily. Magnus shook his head. "Forget I said anything." He sighed as he walked towards the door, ready to leave. "Magnus wait!" Alec demanded, chasing after him. "I'm going to the mess hall for dinner. Don't worry. I'm not going to humiliate you like I've done last year. " he said. His voice sad and broken. Alec felt horrible. Like the worst person to exist. He had no idea he had made Magnus this upset. The younger male watched as the older male walked off down camp to the mess hall. Alec hesitated, not sure if he should go with him. But he knew if he didn't fix this now, Magnus wouldn't be happy all summer. So he closed the door of the cabin and rushed off towards the building where the entire camp was having dinner. He stepped inside and found himself in a crowd of campers. Some trying to get to the garbage to dump out their food or trying to get to their tables. He couldn't see Magnus anywhere. Alec sighed and made his way to the line to get his food. Hoping he'd be able to find Magnus then. But no such luck. The moment he reached the front of the isle Alec picked out his food which was mashed potatoes, some salad and a pork chop. He then left the line and began searching the giant room for Magnus. He finally found him sitting alone at an abandoned table. Which was strange considering his table was usually filled with people who adored him. Alec pushed his way through the crowd and over to Magnus. He set his tray down and sat down in front of the older male. "Mind if I sit here?" Alec asked awkwardly. Magnus who was playing with his potatoes looked up at Alec and frowned. "I don't know. Are you going to humiliate me by screaming in my face again?" He asked coldly. "Look..I'm so sorry for what I've done in the past..I was a total asshole and I should have told you I wasn't into you like that when I had the chance." Alec admitted with a sigh. "You think?" Magnus scoffed as he tossed his fork onto the tray. "So tell me Alec. Why are you really here? You've said your apologies and let me know that there's no way that you like me. So what else could you want if you've achieved everything you wanted to?" Magnus asked as he took a drink of his water. Alec gazed at his plate. He knew exactly why he was here but didn't want to admit it. "I don't know.." he lied. "Great." Magnus chuckled, shaking his head. "More lies. " he sighed. "Alec. Cut the crap and tell me why you're really here and why you're lying to me again." Magnus pleaded. A lump caught in Alec's throat. He had no idea what to do or say. "Never mind. Forget I asked." Magnus sighed getting to his feet. "Okay fine! You really want to know why I'm such an asshole? Why I've treated you the way I did? It was because of my parents. You're right! I did have feelings for you. But I didn't want to admit I felt the same way. Because I knew if my parents came to camp to pick me up and found out I had a boyfriend they'd leave me here! And I don't know about you but I really wasn't in the mood for a 3 day walk back home." Alec demanded. "So yes Magnus, you're right. I do like you. But we can never be together. Okay? Is this what you wanted to hear?!" Alec cried. Magnus stood frozen. Unsure what to say. Alec stood up after getting the majority of the camps attention drawn towards him and picked up his tray. "I'm going back to the cabin. " he said as he made his way through the crowd leaving Magnus behind. He tossed out his food and then left the mess hall, rushing back to the cabins. Wanting to lock himself in there for all eternity. He opened the door and slammed it as soon as he was inside. He kicked off his shoes and crawled under his blankets. As soon as the blanket was over his head Alec burst into a sob. It killed him having to admit his feelings to Magnus but never being able to be with him. Eventually Alec cried himself asleep. And when he awoke again he saw the room was dark. There were flashes of lightning outside the window that lit up the room every now and again. Alec sighed and cuddled back into his blankets. About to fall asleep again. But the sniffling coming from above him was something he couldn't ignore. Alec sat up and pulled himself out of bed. He climbed the ladder to see Magnus' body under the blanket. "Magnus?.." the younger male asked as he placed a hand on his shoulder. Magnus jumped under his touch and began to cry harder. The crack of thunder making him hysterical. Magnus pulled the blankets down a bit and turned to face Alec. "I heard you crying..are you..are you afraid of the storm?" Alec asked, his heart shattering as he saw Magnus in tears. "What if I am? Are you going to humiliate me tomorrow in front of the camp?" He sobbed. "Just go away. I'll be fine." He demanded as he pulled the blankets over him. But Alec didn't leave. "Magnus. I'm not that heartless. " he sighed. "Do you want me to stay up here with you? If it'll make you feel better?" Alec offered, hoping he'd say yes. "Y..you'd do that?" Magnus sniffled as he pulled the blankets down from his face. For once Alec smiled. "Of course." He nodded. "Anything to help you sleep. " he said as he crawled in beside Magnus and awkwardly wrapped his arms around his body. He could feel Magnus shaking under him. "You're shaking.." Alec silently gasped. "Well yeah.. this storm is terrifying.." Magnus croaked. "I'm sorry..you just think I'm the biggest baby.." he sniffled gazing down. "I don't think you're a baby. Everyone has their fears." Alec reminded him. "If you think being afraid of thunder is bad you should see me around balloons." Alec chuckled. Hoping to lighten the mood. "You're afraid of balloons?!" Magnus cried. "How pathetic." He joked. "Hey!" Alec frowned. "I told you that in confidence." He pouted, pretending to be hurt. Just then another clap of thunder shook the cabin. The room lighting up with it. A loud sob came from Magnus. Breaking Alec's heart. Alec didn't know what to do. He had no idea how to comfort the older male. So without thinking he pushed his lips against Magnus' . He earned a gasp from Magnus which went his heart racing. Alec told himself he should stop. But he couldn't bring himself to do so. He kissed Magnus a bit harder, sliding his tongue inside the older males mouth. Causing him to moan softly into his mouth. A few seconds later Magnus pulled away panting. His eyes wide with shock. "Y..you kissed me.." he stammered. Alec nodded in response. "Yeah. I did. Glad we cleared that up. Now come back here so I can keep kissing you." He smirked, pulling Magnus in for another kiss. ___________________________ Hey guys so sorry for the wait. I've been taking a break from some books and this was one of them.
