Survivor - A Camren Fanfiction

• Chapter Four •

My head is throbbing. Fuck, where am I?
I'm trying to open my eyes but as soon as I move my eyelids the pain in my head gets worse. I feel so helpless, I hate feeling helpless.
I force one eye open, trying to figure out where I am but everything is blurry. I can see a few movements and lights but I can't make out where they come from.

I'm starting to hear again, I can hear muffled voices, deep voices. They're probably coming from the men. I'm trying to keep my eyes open but they feel so heavy, I just need some rest. For the past few weeks.. months, i was walking. Every day, walking, running, fighting. I just want some peace and rest. My body is exhausted..

"Wakey wakey, Sleeping Beauty", I hear as someone grabs me by my hair, pulling me up. I scream in pain and try to get ahold of the hair he's holding, trying to relieve the pain. The man pulls me to a wall and lets go off me. I rub my head, feeling the relief, when I see Lucy, sitting right next to me.

"Lauren, are you okay?" She asks me with a worried expression when suddenly the sound of a slap and a painful groan can be heard.
"Back off!" I shout at the guy who dared to hit my best friend.
"Gosh, just stay quiet already.." the guy says and looks down at both of us. I feel intimidated, but he can't notice that.

The man who found us earlier walks up to us, he has his arms crossed in front of his chest and looks down at us as well, just like that guy before and all the other ones. If we wanna get out of here alive, something needs to happen. And it needs to happen soon.

"So you come in here.. use all our electricity and drink our beer.."
The man looks through a bag he picked up from the ground. After taking a closer look I can see that it's Lucy's. She starts fidgeting, I can tell that she wants to do something but doesn't know what or how, just like me.
The man smirks and takes out one of Lucy's butterfly knives, inspecting it closely.

"That's a pretty knife.." he says with a smirk and opens it, running his finger along the blades.
Lucy swallows hard while she's watching him, I can see her getting nervous. She knows how deadly these things are, I saw her using one while defeating two clickers who visited us one night.
"You regret walking in here, right chica?" the man says and walks closer to Lucy, dangerously close.

I wanna do something, I need to do something, but I can't move my body. I'm paralyzed.
Lucy tries to stay calm but I can see her lip trembling.
Lauren, do something. You gotta do something!

"You should regret it. Stupid bitch."
He kicks her in the stomach and Lucy whimpers, clutching her stomach in pain and groaning.
"Fuuuck!" She hisses and I can see the tears stinging in her eyes.

"Stop! Leave her alone!" I scream at the man and try to get up but before I can stand up, the man's fist hits my face and I can feel the familiar pain from earlier. I can't see, I can hear muffled laughs and Lucy's whimpering, she's crying now.

I clutch my eye which is swelling second by second and it hurts like a bitch. And the laughter of the men make the pain even worse. But they also add fuel to the fire.

I get up again, hitting him across the face as hard as I can and he stumbles back a few steps. The other men stare at us in shock and surprise and don't move, not knowing what to do.
The man groans in pain and anger and throws himself at me, out flinging Lucy's butterfly knife, and swings it, hitting my hip, part of my chin and my cheek, missing my eye by millimeters.

I scream and look down at my hip. There's a deep cut, blood seeping out of if. Right on my tattoo of the moon. I stare at it, remembering how Camila used to run her fingers over my hip, loving how smooth it felt. But now it's damaged, the skin parted, the moon broken.

I look up at the man, my blood pumping, my pulse rising. I scream and jump at the man, throwing my whole body weight on him and slapping the knife out of his hand.
Lucy jumps up as well and rushes to her bag before any of the men can act, and takes out her shotgun, aiming it at them.
