No one knew how it began. The fire just happened. Out of the blue. Three people were in it. Most people think they died. I'm not sure. There was nothing left. Only a few burnt tree stumps. And a necklace. I didn't know it at the time but that necklace was dangerous. Very. It had a curse upon it. Only the worthy could possess it for more than a day without it bringing death to them. Was I worthy? In a normal story the main character would be. But this isn't a normal story.
There were no witnesses but many think the necklace fell from the sky, as a warning, a reminder. Many wore it, hoping they were worthy, but all but one went mad or disappeared soon after they put it on. The only one who was able to wear it one died by the time this tale starts. Some heard a long roar the night he died and many said he was a tamer of dragons. Not normal dragons, mysterious elemental dragons, dragons who controlled each of the five elements, yes five elements. Air, water, earth, fire and spirit. They say he kept a legendary dragon with him always, a dragon who can control all five. But it disappeared soon after he died. . .
