Bullies

The next day I went to school. I put my book bag and stuff away. I got my textbooks and went inside my homeroom class.

"OK class, we have another assignment due this Friday. You all have 3 days to do it, OK?"

"Yes Mrs. Godfrey, we will all get it done by Friday!"

She hands out the assignment.

"We only have 3 days to do it? It is like a 5 day assignment!" I whisper to Leed.

"If you do it  during free time at lunch,Presto! You'll be done before you know it." says Leed

" I'm not wasting my time on that junk, I'll do it at home." I whisper back.

I look at the clock. It's still 10:13AM. Two more minutes 'till snacktime. Yippee.

BBBBRRRRIIIINNNNNGGGG! I get my snack and chomp down on it. "What's the rush?" asks Shorn.

"I can't wait until it is math class! We get to eat π!"(π means pi. It's pronounced like pie.)

"π? We are eating π? Why didn't you tell me?"

BRINNGG! I hear the 'snack time is over' bell.

We walk to math class.

"OK class, we are LEARNING about π, NOT eating pie." Says Mr. Raige.

"That man is a total liar" I whisper to Shorn.

As he blabs away, I think of the assignment due this Friday.

"Ayze, what are the first 3 numbers of  π?" asks Mr.Raige

"I know! They are…..uh…..7.91?”

“No, it’s 3.14. Good try Ayze. You were off by 4.77.”

Gosh. I hate it when he is specific.

“We have an assignment due this Friday. You must do it for homework..” Says Mr. Raige as he hands the sheet to the class.

I notice a guy named Azrael starts doing the assignment. I raise my hand.

“Mr. Raige, Azrael starte-” I pause for a few moments. I remembered that Azrael was the school bully. He would get work done first then he would deal with the kids.

“Nevermind Mr. Raige, I don’t need to tell you….” I stutter.

“Well, OK Ayze, just get back to work.” he says.

Azrael gives me a look like he’s going to pound on me at lunch. Yikes. I continue with my work.

“ OK class, time to pack it up.”
