Chapter 11

I smiled over at Cody squeezing his hand smiling. I couldn't believe how happy I felt with him. He leaned over the center console to kiss me when I saw it, headlights heading straight for us.

"Cody!" I screamed, before the semi slammed into us .

"Julia!" I heard Cody yell at me like it wasn't the first time. I looked around me to see we were parked on the side of the road. I breathed a sigh of relief. It was just a dream, thank god I thought. "Julia?" He asked softly pushing my hair behind my ear. I didn't look at him though I focused on the road scared that he'd disappear any moment now. He sighed and got out of the car. He pulled my door open and guided me out of the car. "Let's go for a run."  He said pulling his shirt off.

"Cody, isn't that dangerous?" I said finally snapping out of it. I watched him shrug and felt a flare of anger. I put my hands on my hips not budging.

"You don't have to come." He said taking his pants off. " Though I'd rather you did."  I watched him debating. I really didn't feel right doing something dangerous after watching him die.... again. He watched me for a second before smiling  and taking my hands in his.

"Come on Juls, we've been on the road for days we could use the exercise." He pecked my cheek before giving me a cocky look. "Plus if your so worried about getting in trouble I'll protect you." I shook my head laughing to myself before giving up.

"Ok let's go, but I'm not shifting on the side of the road." I compromised. He shrugged before stepping back to shift. I flinched as I heard his bones snapping into place. He shook out his massive black form and gestured for me to go shift. I smiled shaking my head. " I can keep up just fine." I teased. He playfully snapped at my heels and I took off.

He caught up with me with easy and we ran next to each other hurdling over obstacle until I had to stop to catch my breathe. I felt him nuzzle my side as if to ask me if I was ok. I gave him a smile, " I've been cooped up for to long."

I saw him nod his big head in agreement. I tilted my head when I caught a noise over  my breathing. Before Cody could get up I took off again in a different direction. I was running so fast I slipped on my ass in the mud. I heard Cody laughing and turned to glare at him, which only made him laugh harder.

He came over and held a hand down to me, I took it and he pulled me up into him. "Juls going in the water clothed probably wouldn't be smart." He said.

I smirked at him before leaning up and kissing him. " Who said I'd go in fully clothed?" I saw him shake his head at me smiling as I pulled away to slowly unbutton my shirt.

"I'm just saying it's cold as it is Juls, adding wet clothes could get you sick." He sounded worried about me as I slipped my top off letting it fall to the muddy ground near the river.

"Maybe your right." I agreed pulling my leggings off next. He watched me hungrily as I stood in front of him. I reached behind me and unsnapped my bra.

"Juls." He warned.

"Yes?" I asked batting my eyelashes at him innocently.

"What are you doing?" He sounded strained making me smile knowingly.

"Going swimming." I said before kicking my underwear off and walking into the freezing water. Cody stood there shocked for a moment before getting in his self. He grabbed me pulling me into him and kissed me passionately. I wrapped my arms around his neck  kicking my legs to keep me afloat.

"Your too much of a tease." He said huskily.

I pulled away. "So you stripping down in front of me so you can shift or change whenever you want is fine, but I go swimming one time and I'm the tease?" I challenged. He looked at me taken aback before looking thoughtful.
