Let me clarify a few things before I begin.
You are from Japanese descent, you come from a family of farmers, and raised from humble beginnings.
When you were a child, you helped your mother with cooking and household chores, and helped your father with the farm. Your father also taught you various martial arts, but told you to only use the knowledge you gained for self-defence. You also achieved strength from farm chores, so you are quite strong.
You lived just out of hanamura, and heard little of the Shimada family.
You stay at the farm until your late twenties, and move into hanamura.
The story starts the day when you move into hanamura.
