"TOO" TURNED "SERIOUS"

They made jokes

Said my skirt was too short, too tight, too small,

We all laughed but at the back of my mind,

 I always remembered it.

Those words:

TOO SMALL

 TOO TIGHT

TOO SHORT,

They are just words but I translated them into what they truly meant,

TOO FAT

TOO BIG

TOO DISGUSTING!

I had to take matters into my own hands to change the words

At Home I said the scale was broken

It gave me a number too high to be my weight

They asked me when the last time I looked at myself was.

If I didn’t realize how much I was eating lately, that I could very well be that big.

This time I took it more seriously,

This was my family!

I refused to speak only action was required

I starved myself

Perfected my imperfections

Did I take it too seriously?

NO!

Now next time they talk, they will say:

THIN

BEAUTIFUL

PERFECT!
