“August!  Get your butt in here!” I heard Maddie yell.  What does she want now?  I asked myself.  I groaned and walked downstairs to where Maddie was.

“What do you want?” I asked, clearly not in a good mood.  She huffed and crossed her arms, obviously not very happy with me.

“You did not put anything away! I’m so tired of cleaning up after you!  You didn’t put any of the food away, your dishes are still out, the drawers and cabinets are open.  It looks like a tornado came through here!” she yelled, flailing her arms at the things she pointed out.  This is not what I need right now.

“I don’t care! Okay?  If I cared I would put the stuff away, but I don’t!  You know why? I have more important things to do than worry about whether or not everything is perfectly clean!” I shouted.

“Like what?” Maddie glared at me, folding her arms once more.

“Like Trey that’s what.  I’ve been talking to him the last few days and it’s stressing me out!  The last thing I need is you nagging at me about everything.” I said, getting very irritated.

“Why are you talking to Trey?  What’s he want?” Maddie asked, her voice cold.  Trey and Maddie hated each other, and that’s an understatement.

“He keeps saying that he still loves me and that I should call off the wedding, but there’s no way I could ever do that.” I tell her.

“You need to block him.  He’s nothing but trouble,” Maddie replied.  I knew she was right, but being the stubborn person I am, I wouldn’t admit it.

“You know what?  I can talk to him if I want!  Just leave me alone,” I said, grabbing my car keys off the kitchen counter.

“Where are you going?” Maddie asked.

“On a long overdue date with my fiancé.  Bye,” I said and stormed out of the house.  Yes, she was my best friend, but she really got on my nerves sometimes to the point I couldn’t stand her.  I climbed in my vehicle and started it.   About five minutes after I was onto the highway, my phone started ringing.  I looked to see that it was Maddie.  I pressed “ignore” and threw it on the passenger seat, but it bounced onto the floor.  Whatever. It was dark outside so I turned my high-beams on so I could see better.  My phone started ringing again.  Just leave me the hell alone!  The ringtone was getting on my nerves so I reached over to the floor on the passenger side to find it.  All of the sudden I heard a horn blare.  I sat up and that’s when everything went black.
