Hallelujah, praise the Lord! I've actually UPDATED! But I'm gonna warn you now that this is a LONG chapter! (Word count: 3435) Oh, and I have some music posted at the top if you wanna listen to it while reading. Okay now, enjoy.Laurence's POV
Sly... he charged in without a second thought. That's what I'm supposed to do! I'm supposed to be the knight in shining armor...He's trying to take her from me... like so many have.
I won't let him.
Sly's POV
The roars of the battle surround me the second I walk through the portal, Asgardians run past me towards the huge palace, holding shields and bows, lances and swords. All chant the same thing "The Queen is here! She has returned!"
I'm stunned, I've seen many crazy things in my life, but this wins.
Explosions, armies, battle cries. This is something that would be in a fairy tale. A story of a prince and princess with ogres and witches.
I wish that this really was just a story. Something written that will have a guaranteed good ending. Maybe I'd come in, galloping on a horse, aiming my sword at the huge and evil monster. Then I'd slay the beast and win the heart of Aphmau (the princess).
But this isn't a story, this is real and death is possible, a bad ending can strike us dead any moment now.
Suddenly a giant bolder comes flying past me, it moves right over my head, so close that I can feel it on my face.
Which reminds me, I don't wanna die. So I click a button on the side of my armor and the helmet snaps over my head with a clang.
Everything is dark for a few seconds until the lights flash on, emitting a blue glow that displays a few simple options for my suit.
"Good day sir." Says Jarvis, "All systems will be on in 3... 2... 1."
My visor is bombarded with target trackers, information, and scanners.
"Jarvis, please scan the palace that everyone is running to."
"Yes sir."
As Jarvis analyses the palace the rest of the Few and the guards come out."
"Sly," says Katz, "we need to move, we're just sitting ducks here."
"Got it." I tell him as Jarvis finishes the scan.
The palace changes, I can see the thermal waves now. Every person or heat source is red.
Fire and lighting - which is white in my thermal radar - engulf the place so I can hardly see anyone, but I notice that most of red is around the top of the building.
Two figures move around in fast and jagged motions. They're quick and every few seconds one of them would send waves of heat towards the other.
I think I found them!
"COME ON! THIS WAY!" I shout.
Everyone nods and follows me through the crowds. The Asgardians fight fiercely against frost giants which guard the palace. The giants are bathed a blue color because of the radar, handy for spotting enemies.
Soon we come face to face with a frost giant. It stands tall, towering over us, with a tree in hand. His lips form into a cruel snarl as he zeros in on us.
Boom! He makes his first step, which rocks the ground.
Boom! Another.
Boom! He's getting closer.
