Hello, my name is Octavia Harrison and let me just start off by saying, I love traveling. I'm not the type of girl who turns down a good adventure. As the saying goes, "Adventure is out there" --The Movie Up. Where there is adventure, there is also this adrenaline that just rushes through my veins and I love it. That is probably why I love traveling. You get to try all sorts of things wether it is food, customs, or learning a new language.
You might be thinking "how funny, this girls name is Octavia, like Octavia Blake from The 100" but sadly not. I was named Octavia from something completely different. My parents named me after the elder sister of the first Roman Emperor, Augustus.
My parents are archaeologist who have traveled all over the world, and so have I. I have gone everywhere with them. So homeschooling is the PERFECT thing! When we do go on cruise ships, I go sometimes do the whole 'abroad' thing like off of Suit Life on Deck, but thankfully it is summer so that means I get to just hang out and go do fun things. If you are thinking I love to go to a party and get drunk, you have the wrong person. I am not the weird homeschool kid who is CRAZY about God or have a huge family, I am literally really quite normal but I just don't like drinking.
My family and I got on this boat for six months and it has only been 4 weeks; and yes, while six months is a long dead gum time, I am use to it. I honestly don't really get to home sick; I live in Texas the little time we have not traveling. So yes, it is very tiring but it has taught me to not attach to things so easily.
I am lucky though, my cousin Astrid is coming on the cruise ship and will be staying the whole Summer! She just got out of school and my family thought it would be a good idea to have someone who I knew with me and wouldn't leave so soon. She is right around my age and she is like my best friend so it works perfectly.
The boat we are on is going all over the world so I am happy that we won't be doing the same stop eighteen times.
I walk out to where my mom and Astrid should be coming on the boat. I then see a girl a little taller then me with dirty blonde hair walk on the ship, I knew it was Astrid and I immediately scream!
"Astrid! You are finally here!" I yell while running to give her a hug.
"Yeah! I am so excited for this summer! We are going to have so much fun!" She replied.
We went up our room; somehow my parents got Astrid and I a room to ourselves.
"Hey, I'm going to clean up a little bit then we can walk around." Astrid said as she was picking out some clean clothes to change into.
"Alright. Yeah I need to show you the boat, especially the auditorium and the teen center, it is so cool." I said while trying to pick something to wear and fix my medium long curly hair (outfit below).
