Operation Badass

Chapter 5

It's Monday, a day I usually hate. But today I REALLY hate it. All because my secret could be exposed, all because I was stupid enough to not notice Kai following me to my secret.

After taking a shower and doing my makeup and hair, I head towards my closet and pick out one of the outfits the girls chose for me which is a pair of navy blue high waster jeans, black cropped top and white timberlands. Just as I'm about to leave my room my new leather jacket comes into view next to the door. Quickly contemplating I grab it and head towards my garage.

Deciding to ignore everyone's messages and missed calls over the weekend I decide to leave a little bit early for school just in case Kai or any of the others try and pick me up today, just as I place my helmet on I hear the roar of a familiar motorbike infront of my house, soon after I hear it shut off I hear them walk up to my house, as soon as I hear my mothers muffled voice greeting them I quickly start my engine and race out of the garage and head towards school hoping they didn't see me.

Eyes turned to my bike as soon as I pulled into a parking spot next to my new 'friends' vehicles. Gasps where then heard when I took my helmet of and put my groups jacket on. Heading in the area I knew they'd be in I prepared myself for their or Kai in general questions.

"Hey" they all greeted as I walked up to them. Nodding in response I avoided making eye contact with Kai since I could feel his burning glares.
" why didn't you answer any of our messages or calls?" Asks Ivy
"So-" Scarlett started of " we are gonna hang out at our secret spot after school and we are gonna take you there so meet us at the Oak tree on the field at lunch, ok?"
" yeah sure, cya then" I say as I begin to walk away when suddenly I feel a hand wrap around my wrist.
" I need to talk to you" the owner of the hand states.
" I can't really talk right now Kai, I've got to go" I snatch my hand away from his grasp
and continue walking.
"Astrid! Would you stop for a second?" He huffs hurrying after me, which makes me walk faster almost breaking into a sprint.
"No" I reply as I bust through the front doors, then  weaving myself into the crowded hallways looking for coverage of my locker.
Homeroom bell echos through the hall ways as I shut my locker. Each period I had for the day I would have at least 1 or 2 members of the group. Unfortunately for me 4th (English) has Kai.

Just as the warning bell for English goes of I plonk myself down near the back of the class in the corner, hoping someone will sit down before Kai does.
Suddenly hope all hope is lost when I see him march into the classroom looking like he owns the place. As his eyes skim the class looking for someone we make eye contact. Narrowing his eyes in on me as he struts across the classroom do is desired location. The seat right next to me.

Throughout the hole lesson the teacher spends lecturing us on a test we did last week, which I was thankful for since I had a pair of eyes burning into the side of my face the WHOLE lesson, and when I say the whole lessson I mean the whole lesson, not once did this boy break vision from my head as the teacher told him to pay attention to her, he just dismissed her with the wave of his hand.

As soon as the lunch bell rang I was up and out of there before you could say "skittles", but apparently so was Kai, and let me tell you, my feet couldn't get me away fast enough as I was yanked back my arm being gripped.

" oh hey Kai, how ya doing buddy, didn't see ya there" I said mocking a sweet tone.
" don't you act innocent with me, you still have to explain what the fûck I saw the other night." He snaps. Suddenly he is dragging me in the direction of the field as he continues to try and get the truth out of me but I keep on denying anything he saw.

Just as we reach the back of the field infront of a large and suspicious looking bush I crack when
"You do know that I recorded what I saw and we don't keep secrets in our group so if you don't confess I can easily show them and poof, buh-bye badass Astrid" he states.
" ok, ok. Yes, fine, I admit it! You did see me go in an illegal street race, big deal!" I yell frustratedly.
" see wasn't that hard was it" he says mockingly, then walks behind the bush.
Following his lead I walk behind it aswell to reveal a large tree with everyone staring at us. I look up to Kai seeing him smirk down at me then look back at everyone. Catching on to why they're staring at me weird.
"Uh heh guys....nice tree? Did you plant it yourself?"
