At last remained three sneakers. Each pair uniquely different from the rest. For each contained something pure, something beautiful within its own form, even the most tarnished had something to offer. And so I realized as I looked fondly upon them all, the elements that they each possessed.
The first contained resilience, as well as hope. The ability to flourish, to thrive, even when the world caved in and collapsed in darkness. The first pair was a beacon of hope. The second retained kindness as well as laughter, two qualities of which we cannot hope to survive without. The third, although torn and fractured in the worst of ways, contained empathy. As it was able to relate to others, thus extracting the good within them.
As we walked along a road side, where it all began, a final pair revealed itself. As I suppose it was never truly gone in the first place. Many would say the last was empty, void and barren of things long forgotten. And yet, none of us saw it that way. No. For the last was perhaps the most vibrant of all. The pair that would forever unite a perfect world.
