Mabel was skipping down the sidewalk with her backpack on her shoulder when all of a sudden.
"Ma'am!" A man yelled from behind her. Mabel stopped, and turned around. She saw a brunette wearing safety orange and a hard hat.He was holding her book.
"You dropped this!" He said. Mabel gasped and ran back. She grabbed the book, and hugged the man. "Thank you so much!" She happily as she put it back in her backpack then zipped it back up.She began walking back down the sidewalk with a smile on her face.
She dropped her book once more, but didn't notice. "Hey!" Another guy yelled. Mabel turned around, and saw a guy in a golden tux with a black bow tie, black top hat, and black pants, with black shoes to match it all."You dropped this" he said as he walked up to her and handed her the book.
"Oh! Sorry! I'm...very clumsy..." Mabel said shyly. The man chuckled. "Are you shy or something? You sound oh so gentle when you talk..." the man asked. Mabel subtly smiled."There's a smile!" He said happily.
"I-I'm Mabel" She told him. The man smiled.
"I'm Bill!" He said cheerfully.
"Bill?" Mabel asked. He nodded.
"Is something wrong?" Bill asked
"No...just...that name...it is from my past..." she mumbled."Oh...but you remind me of someone from my past as well..." Bill said as he looked down sadly.
"You must really be missing her..." Mabel said. Bill nodded.
"Yes...she was nice, and had a good heart for those around her" he told her."She sounds like a wonderful person!" She said happily.
"Indeed she was" Bill replied as he lifted his head back up."Well...you sound like you could use a friend!" Mabel said as she pulled out a piece of paper and wrote her phone number on it. "Here! Call me anytime you need anything!" She told him as he took the paper.
He smiled and put it in his pocket.
"Thanks! Goodness...you remind me so much of her..." Bill said softly.
Mabel chuckled as she walked off.
Bill smiled and walked the other direction."Hm, she is so similar to someone of my past..." he mumbled to himself.
"If only i could remember who..."
He paused.
"S-Shooting Star...That's who she reminds me of..."
He paused to think for a moment.
"Wait a second...her name was Mabel...right!?" He questioned.
"No...that couldn't have been her...could it?" He started to eventually realize. He stopped walking and turned around. He saw Mabel who had stopped walking as well, not to far away from him.
Bill ran towards her, and stopped when he got in front of her."S-Shooting Star?" He asked. Mabel looked up at him.
"C-Cipher?"
