After spending a sleepless night thinking about it, he decided finally to call his girlfriend.
The conversation initially was filled with long awkard silence. But eventually the feelings and emotions started taking form of words. It moved hot and cold. Questions were thrown, claims were made and it went on for a long time.
He realised that damage has been done to both the sides. And keeping his ego aside he knew he needed her. Actually both needed each other's presence. Both agreed to that. And in couple of days they decided that they need to control this damage and without any commitments of future try to heal each other. He knew the situation he was in and with such vulnerabilities, he couldn't go through anymore heartbreaks, it was like a walk on paradox. But he also knew she was worth it.
Things progressed slowly as did the days. For him it was about doing the little things right and avoid as many mistakes as he could. Instead of thinking too far ahead, he would make small goals everyday and tried achieving that. It was easier and his little efforts were working. He could sense she was happy with him now more than she ever was. His enigmatic days now atleast had some motive. He had realised things were still not that complex. He just needed to keep working on it with little bit of patience.
He tried same tactics on his other problems. He started spending more time with his friends and avoided 'alone' time in college. He now thought more about things he liked than regretting about things he didn't. He utilised his time more efficiently. It was all about those small targets and trying to pursue happiness. Yes ofcourse presence of girlfriend made a huge difference as well. In the catastrophic darkness, She was his glimmering smile. She made sure troubles doesn't make deep impacts on him.
Gradually the haze of uncertainty seemed to disappear. He could now identify what exactly were his ploblems. He was more decisive about what he wanted to do. He had fallen in love once again with his girlfriend. And although he still had lot of indecisions to deal with, he now believed he could go through them and was happy he had someone to share them with. He had now finally got rid of one of the cars that blocked the traffic on the highway.
