The night

I push the front door open and lock it behind me. I go straight up to my room. I fling my bedroom door open and plop onto my bed. Finally, relaxation. But it doesn't make me feel any better. Maybe getting into some comfy clothes will cheer me up.

I stroll to my dresser and slide the drawer open. There laying in front of me is a picture frame. A girl on a swing and a boy behind her. Where did I see this before? Oh yeah! Wait....oh yeah😒

It is the image I remembered in the bathroom. It was the girl and the boy who were "the best of friends".

Now, I thought about it. Jake used to be a playful boy who knew we were just friends. JUST FRIENDS! And he never cared what other people thought of him. He used to have messy black hair. His eyes used to always be filled with joy and laughter.

Anger started to boil through me. Look at him now! He's changed so much. He only cares about his reputation! He thinks we're not just friends! Jake spikes his hair! He tries for the popular people. And most of all.....HE TRIES TO IMPRESS ME?!?!?!

Before I know it, the picture frame is on the floor microscopic glass pieces shattered everywhere. It would be the worst to clean this up.

Well, now my parents are going to kill me...., but it was so worth it. I quickly grab some pajamas from the drawer.

I cautiously tip toe around the shattered mess into the bathroom. A peacefully change out of my uncomfortable clothes and into the soft fluffy pajamas I got for Christmas.

I hear a ringing outside. I swing the door open. I swear if it's that kid I will kill my self.

I dash over to my bed and stare cautiously at the ringing phone. I carefully approach my hand towards it as if it is a dangerous animal. I breath and flip over the phone.

Oh, it's only a FaceTime call from Stacy. I decide to click the answer button because I thought someone to talk to would take me out of my mental stage.

Stacy's pale freckled face pops up with her shimmering blue eyes staring at me.

"Hey gurl!" She exclaims with an enthusiastic voice that she always seems to have.

"Hey.." I reply, too busy thinking about how in the world I am going to clean all that glass.

"What's wrong?" Stacy questions worriedly, her enthusiasm fading.

I explain the whole story from my perspective to her even though she was there.

"Oh yeah! He was totally a jerk! Like I can't believe the nerve!"

"Yeah I mean why does he even bother! I've already told him before that-OWW!!!!!" I scream my foot in total pain.

I lean onto my bed and flip my foot over. There is a few pieces of sharp glass jammed into my flesh, gushing red liquid everywhere.

"Ow! Ow! Ow!" I scream at the top of my lungs.

"Ariana w-what happened..?" questioned Stacy's voice from the pile of glass.

"I-stabbed my-foot w-with glass!" I shout trying to stop all the blood.

I pluck out all the glass pieces wincing in pain.I grasp a little towel at the end of my bed and wrap it tightly around the wound.

"Ariana?"

"I'm fine Stacy," I say reaching for the phone on the floor, "I just stepped on a little glass.."

"Why's there glass in your room?"

"Oh uh nothing...look I'll see you later. Bye!" I reply, hanging up so that she can't answer back and I chuck my phone onto the other side of my bed.

I stare back down at my foot wrapped in the dark red towel now drenched with red liquid, but you couldn't tell the towel was red anyway.

"Ariana?" My mom's voice shouts from the bottom of the stairs. Uh oh she's back from work.

I get up on one leg and clutch a blanket from my chair. I toss it onto the shattered glass. I jumped onto the bed and covered my foot with my comforter and hope for the best.

My mom barges into the room without even knocking and stares over at me.

"What's up honey?" mom inquires sounding pretty stressed.

"Nothing much," I respond acting like I don't know anything, and lemme tell you I'm the best actor ever when it comes to lying😉

She paced around the room with her dress shoes. I was so worried if she found out about the glass. She doesn't know about my problem with Jake and if she found out she would be devastated. My mom thinks me and Jake are still best friends.

Crunch! Uh oh here comes the misery train.

My mom crouches down and lifts the blanket revealing the shattered mess.

"Ariana! What is this? Why did you break it?" My mom shouts angrily built up by all the stress she's been through today at work.

"I-it was an accident! I opened my drawer and fell out that's all!" I lie defending myself.

"What's going on Ariana? Are you guys not friends anymore?"

"Nothing, no! Of course we're friends!" I answer now sounding really fake because I know that facts is really not true.

"I think I ought to call Jake's mom about this! This isn't acceptable! You and Jake have been friends since you were three and it'll stay that way."

"No don't call his mom! Why do you care if we're friends....things change..." I say standing up from the bed.

" Ariana! What happened to your foot?"

"Nothing okay! Just stop trying to control my life!" I shout in anger at her, but she wasn't what was making me mad.

"Ok fine! But I'm calling his mom!" She screams leaving the room.

I lay back down pain surging through my foot. I just want to start over with life. I want everyone to leave me alone and let me be who I am. These days no one really acts of who they are.....Except for true friends.

So to make up for the short chapter, I wrote a pretty long one. Not really but it's long enough for my taste. So anyway hope enjoy. VOTE
