More Than Anything (Niall Horan/One Direction fan-fic)

Chap 7

"What do you say we go upstairs?" I said to her, sadly pulling away from the hug. As much as I didn't want the hug to end, I knew it was getting late, and standing infront of the doors of a hotel in the winter as people let the cold air in walking through, I didn't particularly want to be colder than I already was. We got to the elevator, pressing the button leading up to the very top; to our penthouse. The ride up was silent, but more of a comfortable silence.

Soon enough, their was a familiar ding followed by the opening of the elevator doors into our room. As we stepped out, Brook looked around the room in awe, her eyes going wide.

"This is were you stay?!" She asked, turning in circle to be sure she takes everything in.

"Yup, this is home.... For a few months." I said. Brook got a small frown on her face.

"Oh yeah." She said "I didn't think of that." I walked over to her, pulling her into another hug.

"But let's not think about that." I said, looking into her eyes, " focus on what's right now, not what's in the future." As we pulled away from the hug, I heard whispering coming from behind the kitchen door.

"Dude, what are the doing I can't see."

"Calm down Lou, their just hugging."

"What a happy couple they.." I interupted who was talking, I presumed it was Harry.

"You can come out now guys." I said, some annoyance and humor evident in my voice. It took awhile, but they soon came storming out, acting like nothing happened.

"Hey mate, when did you get here?" Louis said, rubbing the back of his head as the rest of the boys whistled, acting as if nothing happened.

"Haha, very clever Lou, oh, and guys, this is Brooklyn, Brooklyn this is Zayn, Harry, Liam, and. Louis." I said pointing to all the boys, each of them waving when their name was said.

"Nice to meet you Brooklyn." Harry said, walking up to us.

"Thanks, you too, all of you." She said smiling. Harry reached his hand out for a handshake, but Brooklyn had different ideas, and pulled him in for a hug.

"She's a hugger Niall." Harry laughed, hugging her too.

"Yup." Is all I said. I don't know why but I kind of felt a little jealous when she hugged him, and I think Zayn noticed.

"Guys, what do you say we give them some space, they are on a date remember?" He said, the boys agreed, nodding their heads as they walked out into the other room, saying a goodbye. I turned to Brook who was standing their awkwardly, not knowing what to do.

"Hey, would you wanna watch a movie?" I asked, trying to find another thing to do than stand here.

"Did someone say movie?! I wanna watch one too guys no fair!" I heard Louis say from the other room, he was eves dropping again no doubt.

"There is a tv in their too ya know!" I said. This penthouse has a tv in almost every room, why hasn't he noticed that yet?

"But it won't be fun alone Niall, I wanna watch it with you guys too!" God, he sounds like a freaking 5 year old, always wanting to join into the games the older kids are playing.

"Watch it with the other 3 louis!"

"Oh yeah.' Is the last thing he said before I turned to Brook again, I never did get an answer.

"A movie would be great." She said with a smile, she was adorable.

"Ok, I'll go make the popcorn, you can pick out the movie if you want, their over there." I said, pointing to a cabinet by the tv.

When I came out from the kitchen, two bowls of buttery popcorn in hand, Brooklyn was still looking for movies.

"Want some help?" I asked, setting the bowls on the table infront of the couch and then kneeling beside her, looking at some of the options.

"I don't know which one to choose! You guys have an amazing selection!" She said, flipping through the movies.

"How about... This one?" I said, taking out a movie I hadn't seen in years.

"Marley and me? But that movie is so sad!" She said, pouting her lip.

"Yeah, but it's still a great movie, plus, I could always comfort you." I said, standing up and reaching my hand out to help her up.

"True.. Ok sure. But next time, I get to pick the movie." She said with a smirk. Next time. There would be a next time, butterflies filled my stomach.

"Deal."

After two bowls of popcorn and a tear soaked shirt, we had finished the movie. Brooks eyes were still alittle red from all the crying she had done, but we still enjoyed the movie.

"I told you it was sad." She sniffed, whipping her eyes with a tissue she got from the box I had brought in a while earlier.

"Yeah, sadder than I remember actually." I said, getting up to get the dvd from the player.

"Well, Niall, I should get going, it's getting late." She said. I looked at the time, she was right, it was late. 2:00 in the morning.

"Why don't you stay the night here? There's no use in going home this late." I really didn't want her to leave yet, as clingy as it sounds, plus, I didn't feel comfortable driving this late at night, and I don't seem like it's right to send your date home in a taxi.

"Your right. Ok, I guess ill stay. I'll sleep on the couch."

"Oh no, you get my bed, it's way more comfy, I'll stay on the couch."

"No, Niall, I get the couch, you get your room, end of discussion."

"Oh that's what you think." Is all I said before I lifted her up over my shoulders, caring her down the hall.

"Put me down!" She laughed, pounding on my back, attempting to make it hurt enough for me to drop her. But well.. It wasn't even close.

"Ok." I said before I dropped her onto my mattress, the springs creaking under the impact. As she sat up she glared at me.

"Cheater." she said, sticking her tongue out, I did the same. I walked over to my dresser, picking out a pair of plaid boxer shorts and a white t-shirt.

"Here." I said, tossing the clothing onto the bed, "you can sleep in these." She lifted them up and got off the bed, holding the clothes against her chest.

"The bathroom is over there." I said pointing to the closed door in my room, she nodded and walked over to the door.

"Thanks." Is all she said before she disappeared behind the door.
