Chloe
After getting Maddie's text, I knew I had to go. I climbed out my back window with a first aid kit and hung for a second before dropping myself to land on the small terrace beneath my window. I peeked inside and saw mom doing something, I think it was yoga. I laughed loudly when she tried to do something flexible. Her head jerked in my direction and I jumped back in fear, barely able to see her. I did notice that she was coming towards me. I climbed up on top of the railing and let myself down easily, little by little. I heard the sliding door open above me and looked down. It was about a 7 foot drop. I closed my eyes, hoping I would make it, though I had already made it a hundred times before. I dropped down and.......
I ran to Maddie and Mackenzie's house. When I got there, I ran around the back and climbed up the ladder into Maddie and Mackenzie's shared room. They weren't there. I sighed and opened the door slowly. It creaked and I flinched. When no one else reacted, I walked downstairs. Melissa was no where in sight. I breathed a sigh of relief and ran to the den. Mackenzie was asleep on the floor and Maddie was sitting next to her, blood on her arm. When she saw me, she smiled weakly. "Oh thank god you're here Chloe! You got a first aid kit?" She asked. I nodded and held it up. She smiled again. "Great. We need to wake Kenzie up." Maddie told me. I patted Kenzie gently on the cheek. She didn't move. Maddie looked worried. I shot her a reassuring glance. She'll be ok I mouthed. I patted Kenzie's cheek a few more times and she awoke. "Kenzie!" Maddie and I both said. "Chloe? Maddie?" She said quietly, then coughed. Mackenzie looked at Maddie. "Maddie you're b-" "I am fine, Kenz! Right now we need to worry about you!" I said. She nodded. "Can you stand?" I asked. She shrugged. "I dunno," she said. "Here..." Maddie said, helping Mackenzie into an upright position. From there, we helped her to stand. Then Maddie and I sat her down on the couch. We sat next to her. "So...what happened?" I asked, concerned. "Mackenzie broke a vase by accident and Mom started to abuse her. She was stomping her chest, then Kenzie passed out. Then I told her to stop and she stabbed me with the scissors. And now you're here and everything's...better." Maddie explained. I took the pair of scissors from the floor. "These?" I asked and Maddie nodded. "Ok," I said, cutting open the sleeve of her shirt. There was a nasty cut. I wrapped it in Ace bandage. "Ok, done." I said. "Thanks Chlo," Maddie said. "Thanks, Co."
Mackenzie muttered, not really able to pronounce 'Chloe,' but it's actually cute.
