Ever since that day, Alexis won't talk to anyone but myself. Everytime Arianna comes over to talk to me, I notice that Alexis starts to shake and stare downwards. It really worries me. I'm not sure what I should do. I can tell she is slowly getting depressed. I've walked in on her crying multiple times. Which brings us to now. I walk towards the lunch and glance into the library only to see Alexis crying at one of the tables, her head down.I ran into the library and sat beside her and started hugging her. Telling her it's ok and that im here. Eventually she stopped crying. "Were you thinking again Al?" "Yea..." I hugged her again knowing that she would start crying again if i didn't. "It's ok Alexis, I'm here for you." After about 5 minutes of hugging, I walked with her into the lunch room. We sat down at the same table we did every day. I never ate at school or at home if I could get away with it, but now Alexis was starting to not eat. She doesn't think she's fat, does she? I think she noticed I was looking at her worriedly because she was looking at me with a curious face. "What is it Toby?" "Nothing" I gave her a fake smile to make it seem more believable but I could tell she wasn't buying it so I think its time to change the subject. "So what do you plan on doing this weekend?" "Nothing really, just sit in my bed all weekend and sleep" Alexis replied. "Saaaaammmeee" I would probably be doing a lot more than that but I wasn't about to tell her that. I couldn't let her figure out that I was suicidal daily and that those thoughts had been getting worse and that I was unsure that I would make it through another terrible weekend. I guess she noticed me looking at nothing and my expression being blank because when I looked at her, she was staring at me with a worried look on her face. "What were you thinking about?" I couldn't tell her that. Not now. Not ever."Nothing important" I replied nervously. "Toby, what were you thinking about?" "Oh, nothing just unicorns and rainbows with a preety sunset in the background" "Toby, I want the truth now." "I uh gtg to the bathroom so I'll be right back." She seemed hesitant to let me go but she eventually gave in. "Ok just hurry." "Ok" I reply quietly and then walk towards the bathroom. Once I got into the bathroom I immediately went inside one of the stalls and locked it behind me. Shit shit shit. I can't let her know. If I let her know that then she'll start worrying all the time and she already has enough problems as it is. Great. Now I'm having a panic attack. God why must I be so weak. I can't handle anything. I'm so fucking weak. Well here comes a breakdown. After about 10 minutes of thinking, I started having a breakdown. Then, only to make things worse, a group of guys came into the bathroom and unfortunately I knew them. I peeked through the tiny crack in the door, tears slowly sliding down my cheeks, and when I saw them I paled. They were looking straight at my stall, smirking. I then immediately closed the door and tried to lock it but one of the guys had already gotten to the door and kept me from locking it. Two more guys came to the door and threw it open. I looked at them in horror then they threw me to the ground. They all started kicking me in the ribs, face, and just about everywhere. With each kick, I wanted to scream, but I knew that if I did that, the beating would only get worse. So I held all the screams of pain by biting my lip. Their leader, Joseph, got on top of me and started punching me. I tried getting him off me but the other guys just kicked me every time I did. After about 2 minutes of nothing but punching, they ran out the bathroom and I layed there on the ground, pain erupting from everywhere I could still feel. I stood up and looked in the mirror. Great, I have a black eye and some bruises on my cheekbones. I then decided to put my hoodie up, I walked out of the bathroom, into the lunch room, and over to my table where Alexis was, looking down the whole time. "Hey" Alexis said. "Hey.." I replied quietly. That had made Alexis suspicious and was probably wondering why I had my hood up. Great, im screwed. "Toby, why do you have your hood up?" I didn't answer. That's all I could do right now. I might say something suspicious. "Toby?" She tried looking at my face but I wasn't about to let that happen so I jerked my head the other way. At this point she was probably getting inpatient. "Toby take the hoodie off or I'm gonna do it for you." Looks like I was right but I still stayed silent. There really was no point in saying anything. Without me noticing, she pulled my hoodie down and I quickly looked down. She lifted my head and her eyes widened. Great..now she knew. "WHO THE HELL DID THIS TOBY?!" "someone.." "WELL OBVIOUSLY BUT WHO?!" "I can't tell you that.." After that she started dragging me towards the nurse's office. Once we got there, the nurse took one look at me and began making an icepack for my eye. While she was doing that, she said,"How did this happen?" "I fe-" "Toby don't you dare lie." "He was beat up." "Ok thanks for telling me." the nurse said. The nurse then placed the ice pack on my eye and told me to hold it there for the rest of the day. Alexis and the nurse talked privately in her office and after about 12 minutes of talking, Alexis came out. "Alright lets go Toby." "Ok" We walked out of the office and I started walking towards the lunchroom but Alexis pulled my arm and dragged me towards the exit door. "We were given a slip allowing us to go home for the day(dont know what their called)so let's go Toby." "Oh ok." Then with that, we headed towards my house.
