she's soft and sweet like whipped cream / like chocolate / like candy / one taste just is not enough / she can't satisfy your ever growing sweet tooth / so you toss her away and pretend you never cared for her /she was nothing but nice / nothing but kind / you pushed her over the edge / and she snapped in half / brittle and a little more sour than when it began /
even though she's sour she's still sweet / i know your teeth still ache / i can tell by the way you spoke her name / the dentist can't fix this kind of hole /
you're allowed to swallow the pain / you're allowed to say you're fine / but the backlash is ever so selfish / it's ever so draining / aren't you tired? / you know / not every candy is for the taking / especially not for yours /
maybe your selfishness / your need to take and take and take until the candy bowl is empty / is an extension of you / an extension of your rage / perhaps you've gone sour / perhaps you've never been sweet /
