Emily Dent is a cold-hearted girl who has absolutely no interests except in studying and her plans for the future. A boy named Haru Evans, who sits next to Emily hasn't returned to school since that bloody fight on the first day of class. But one day, after Emily is tasked with delivering class printouts to Haru's home, she meets Haru, who immediately greets her as a friend, starting their new relationship and the beginning of Emily's journey.
