Chapter 1

Lucy's POV
The doorbell rang and I rushed to the peek hole.
The mail man.
I opened the door and he handed me a letter
"Thank you!"
He tipped his cap and nodded, walking back down the cobble stone steps.
I closed the door and looked at the letter
Oh my fucking God.
It has the Heartfilia crest...
I slowly open it trying to figure out what he would want.
My fingers trembled as I slowly opened the letter
Dear Lucy,
I have arranged for you to marry Mr. Loinheart. He will contribute to our family and keep you company. I require a heir for my business. A boy.
The wedding will be held in several weeks. I shall send note for an exact date. Be ready.
Sincerely,
Your father.
He wouldn't. That bastard!
Our family? Ever since mom died "our" is no longer a word in my vocabulary, let alone father!
WHO THE HELL DOES HE THINK I AM?!?
I'm am not just going to marry someone for advantage!
I sighed and ripped up the letter. Then throwing it up into the wind and watched the tiny pieces fly in the wind.
If only I could be that free.
I walked back into the house slamming the door behind me.
This can't be happening...
I grabbed my shoes slipped them on and grabbed my coat and purse.
As I walked to work my mind was re playing and pausing and arguing
He can't do that! I have a life! I have a fucking like and he can't control it!
If mom where here she would dump his bratty ass like 3 week old leftovers!
I started to run seeing I was late and who I saw waiting there for me to open up shop?
Natsu.
The funny adorable weirdo who won't leave me alone.
I run 'Lucky&Love' a small cafe where people come and relax or college student come to do homework.
It has a relaxing atmosphere to it. Or at least I think, and it's probably why I get so many customers.
"Hey Luce!"
"Natsu."
I unlocked the door and walked in, setting my things on the nearest table.
"Hey, you okay?"
He sat down beside me and I sighed.
"I-"
"IM HERE!!!"
Mira Jane came running as Levy trailed not far behind here.
I looked at the clock and smiled
"Right on time ladies."
Mira fist pumped and looked at Levy
"Told ya."
"We shall see."
"Hey Natsu!"
He smiled
"Hey guys!"
Then he looks back at me but before he can speak I shake my head.
"I'm fine."
I got up turned the 'We're closed' sign to 'We're open', and waited for the costumers to pile in.
A FEW HOURS LATER
"Hey Luce!"
I look up from a customer towards Natsu who was eating his jalapeño bread and black coffee, free of freaking charge, the scoundrels lucky he's my best friend.
"Yeah?"
He swallowed the last of the bread and sipped the coffee.
"Life is calling!"
His job. He works as an engineer for his dad's company 'Dragneel Inc.' so he barely has to work, but only when they really need him.
"Say hi to your dad for me!"
"I'll come back later! And I will!!"
He blows me a kiss and I catch it.
We wave and he runs out the door.
I watch him while the little girl in front of me is smiling
"Is he your boyfriend?"
I look down at her and sigh
"No sweet heart. He's just a really good friend."
"Aw... You two are cute..."
I smile
"Well I think your cuter, blueberry muffin right?"
She rapidly nods her head as she eyes the desert in the display case.
"Gotcha." I grab the tongs and place the muffin in a brown paper bag.
She sets her money on the table but I shake my head
"Free of charge sweetness."
She smiles at me as I hand her the muffin and her money
"Thank you pretty lady!"
I wave as she walks to her mom. The mother looks at me but I shake my head and smile, giving her a thumbs up. She smiles and walks out with her daughter and I sigh.
"Hey Lucy!"
I turn and see levy balancing plates on her arms
"Help?"
"I swear I don't pay you enough. You do twice as much as I pay." I grab half the plates at we walk out from behind the counter and to the numerous tables with the orders. One table I'm afraid to go to though.
The certain blonde guy with a scar on his right eyebrow.
I cautiously walk up to the table. Setting the plate with the lemon tart down I turned around and was about to walk away when he grabbed my hand.
"Do you mind? If I could have a word?"
I turn around and see Stings mask. Kind eyes and a wonderful smile. But under that was a face full of anger and aggressiveness.
He motioned outside but I shook my head
"Here is fine, thank you."
He sat back down and sighed
"Lucy I was wondering if you would well I you would meet me sometime this week?"
Is he serious? He cheats on me then asks me out? Douche
"No. I'm not gonna be one of your personal whores. Know get out of my cafe before I strangle you fat neck."
I pushed him out the door and slammed it shut on him.
No one noticed since they where all talking but apparently Erza, who had secretly snuck in with out me noticing, obviously did cause she strolled right to my side with the most serious look in her face ever.
"Why was Sting here?"
"I have no fucking idea."
She shook her head and looked at me.
"Forgive me for asking but, there seems to be an even stronger connection between you and Natsu, I have I missed anything?"
"NO!"
Everyone turned to look at us momentarily until continuing their conversations.
"There's is nothin between me Natsu! Alright?! Nothing! Nada! So you can join Mira in her never ending fangirling because we are not together and will never be together because someone already planned out my whole life and is fucking forcing me into something I do not want to do! Natsu and I will never be together! Alright?! Never!!"
I stormed back to the counter and tapped my fingers on the wooden surface as I propped my head and hand up by my elbow.
"Hey Lucy."
