Chapter 1 - Gwendolyn Jones

Gwendolyn Jones was a genius inventor and had been building and creating since she was only a small thing. Her father was an explorer and her mother a inventor, specialising in the field of medicine, she had no siblings.

When she was 11 her family moved to Nuneaton, England where the industrial revolution was blooming.
She didn't know much English having lived in Wales for her whole life and was found it difficult to find friends who'd understand her, so to help her learn English she decided to create someone to help her.

She asked her mother for help since she was much better at making things work as they should but young Gwyendlin did the majority of the work. Her father was away at the time she started, but she wrote to him to tell him of her plans.

Her father returned after a month of Gwendolyn's project starting, he had been visting America and had brought a strange man back with him. This man was called Peter Walter, but Gwendolyn called him Mr. Walter out of politeness, her father had told him of Gwendolyn's little project and he thought he'd share some wisdom with her as he was another inventor well-versed in automatons, and he knew that Gwendolyn was smarter than any one could imagine.
