He looked at me with golden brown eyes. His stare was harsh, and pierced right through me making me feel small and helpless. My breathing quickened. I was a deer in the headlights of his eyes. It felt like he could see every part of me, possibly even right through me. I could tell by the way his eyes shifted he was examining me; the way I moved; motionless, the way I breathed; shallow now, the way I stood; straight, the way I spoke; hesitant, the way my eyes traveled up and down his figure; tall, masculine, intimidating. It felt like years before he took the time to speak.
"You know what you're in for. Once this is over, it can't be undone." His voice was deep and calm. A chill ran down my spine as the words swirled in the air around me. He showed zero emotion with his phrase, not even a little remorse or concern, just completely monotone, completely lifeless.
"Yes, I know Ace." I sighed back my voice slightly shaky from what I got myself into.
I knew what I was doing, and I was pretty sure I wanted it. More than anything I knew I wanted him, and if it meant to go through with this, that's exactly what I would do. I'd be bound to him, for an eternity. He was the devil, and I was selling my soul to him, for him. A deal – for love. There's the stereotypical image of a crimson man, with a cape and horns, a tail, and a pitchfork. The thing is the devil's appearance is beautiful, wonderful, perfect. He comes in as everything you've ever wished for; everything I've ever wished for. If this was sin, let me sin. I was too close to the devil to even have a chance to take a step towards God. I was too deep into the gates of hell he was pulling me into.
Ace stepped towards me. His body towering over mine, making me feel even smaller than before, even powerless. At this point he was the predator, and I was his prey. He wrapped a hand around my throat, applied pressure, and pulled me up closer. I gasped for air as my supply was cut off. His eyes flashed red piercing into me once more.
"Katherine, I'm asking once more, are you sure? This is irreversible." Again, in a stern monotone.
"Yes, Ace." I melted beneath his fingers.
He loosened his grip on my neck, then finally let go. I gulped down a breath of air. Ace ran a hand through my hair lingering around my red tips. His touch was gentle and almost sweet, his facial expression still blank. I wanted to read him, but as hard as I tried I couldn't. He was written in a foreign language. From the ends of my hair, his hand went to my face, caressing my cheek. His hand was soft, yet firm against my now rosy cheeks from blushing. The palm of his hand cooled a majority of my skin, while his fingertips rested against the side of my head rubbing gently behind my ear. With one smooth motion, he pulled me up against him. I was startled at the amount of force he could produce with one hand. I mean I knew he was strong, but being able to move me up to where there is no space between us in one swoop, practically effortless – my thoughts began to race along with my breath again.
Ace's face began coming closer to mine, I tried to calm myself down, but the thoughts were starting to take over. What was I doing? Did I really want this? Should I even be doing this? The silence was deafening, and I was trapped in my head. Ace's cold lips brushed against mine, shocking me out of thoughts. He was always cold.
"Is this it?" I spoke barely a whisper.
My eyes closed as a natural reaction to the cold kiss I was receiving. He pressed me up against a wall kissing me harder. I felt my body starting to go numb, the tingly feeling when your foot or hand falls asleep began at my lips and slowly made its way all around me. The life was being drained out of me. I felt all the warmth that had once been in me being drawn out by this kiss. My body began to grow cold, and numb. As the last few bits and pieces of life were being pulled out of me Ace slowed to a stop, and my body went limp as he dropped me against the floor. I tried to keep my eyes open, but each time the world around me became more and more a blur, until everything eventually faded to black. It was done.
