Parents say that they'll talk to you about what's wrong. They ask why you're crying and you tell them you're tired. They hug you and say that if you want to talk and just vent, they're there for you and will just sit and listen without saying a word.

But here's the thing, they can't just not say anything. Parents have to protect their children from whatever's the matter. So you start explaining with tears rushing down your face and they chuckle. Yes, they fucking chuckle because your problems are so small to them.

We know it's not paying the rent, or raising a child, or even going to work everyday to impress your boss. But it is school, and honestly it's harder to impress teenagers than it is grown ups. Our problems are hard as hell too, adults. So don't chuckle when your sons and daughters come up to you with tears welling up their throats and filling their eyeballs that you your self constructed. You take them in your arms and you listen. Don't fucking chuckle because they don't appreciate that shit.
