Amongst the stars

They reached the top of the staircase and Jungkook opened the doors to the rooftop. They walked in and felt the cool breezes brush their face as they sat on the ground.

"Any minute now, we just have to wait a little longer." He spoke whilst closing his eyes and feeling the cold air cool him down from the heat of the crowd.

"Okay." She replied whilst looking at his face. She couldn't help but smile knowing that he got to enjoy the festival.

They both heard the squealing sound of a firework lit up and rush up to the night sky as showers of glimmering light shone. She was in awe of the colour being splashed on the dark sky.

"You brought me here to see the fireworks." She smiled whilst he nodded shyly. He had never done this before but felt satisfied with the smile on her face.

More glimmering light shone in the sky as it spiralled into wonderful patterns giving sounds of crackles and bangs. They both watched in silence but held tiny smiles seeing them.

Jungkook felt content for some reason. He wasn't used to doing stuff like this but now he could enjoy it as much as he pleased. He looked at Faye who was gazing at the sky and giving a look of amazement as her green eyes glowed in the soon-to-be moonlight.

This time, he couldn't help but stare at them longer. He felt a sudden feel of his hand tightening and looked down.

Their hands were still intertwined. And part of him wanted them to remain like that. He felt overjoyed now knowing that he was the reason for her smile right now.

Time passed by and the fireworks had finished a while ago. But the festivities still went on, so there was time left. Both Faye and Jungkook were laying down with their hands behind their head as Jungkook had closed his eyes and rested.

He gradually opened his eyelids and saw that they were still on the rooftop as he blinked a few times whilst waking up. Jungkook then looked at Faye. She was staring at the night sky above her.

It reminded him of the time of when he first saw her in the park. She always had her eyes on the sky. She never looked anywhere else.

"You know i love seeing the stars." She quietly said but Jungkook heard. She must've sensed that he was awake.

"Why?" He asked. He was curious about her interest in the sky.

"Something about them makes me want to stare at them. The light they create which shines in the night. You know it sounds silly but i always wondered how it'd be if we became stars." She exhaled and he stared at her with curiosity in his eyes.

"They're so beautiful aren't they?" She smiled whilst staring into the night as her eyes softened.

He couldn't look anywhere but her. Her ethereal beauty was starting to take a place in his heart. And he didn't know how to feel about it.

He turned his face to the view in front of him, and saw the millions of stars which looked like snowfall sparkling in outer space as he began to admire the moonlit night just like Faye.
