After school Tom walked home instead of taking the bus. He was still thinking about if he should say yes to Tord's request.

Even though he hardly knew him, it could be a new start to a nice friendship.

Tom had finally arrived home as he opened up the door only to be greeted by his mother.

"Hello sweetie" she said kissing Tom on the cheek.

"Hi mom" Tom spoke softly as he kicked off his shoes.

"Tom I have to go out an emergency happened at my job. So It'll be a bit late when I come back. But I'll be back later okay?" Tom shook his head in agreement as he moved out the way for her to leave. "Theres some leftovers in the fridge if you get hungry!" Is what she finally said to Tom as she was off to work.

Tom ran upstairs to his room then got started on his homework. Well attempted to. Even though Tom hated the school stuff he did atleast try and thats all he could do really.

When Tom sat back in his chair he put his hands in his pocket and felt something inside one of them. So when he took out the mysterious item it was the paper he had crumbled up.

It was Tord's phone number.

Tom debated back and forth in his head if he should go or not.
He had nothing to do here but watch TV and nothing would be on so why bother.
Tom finally gave in and put in Tord's phone number and quickly texted him 'I'll go with you.' and soon enough there was a reply.

'Thats good because I'm already outside.'

Tom's eyes grew wide as he went to look out his window and saw a rusty off red truck in the front of his house with Tord standing outside looking up waving at him. Tom stepped back and quickly ran down stairs and opened up his door.

"How the hell do you already know where I live!?" Tom exclaimed as he put back on his shoes and stepped out.

"I live down the street and Matt told me. Now get in were going on an adventure!" He said circling around the truck and getting into the drivers side.
Tom sighed then went back inside to grab his keys as he came back out closing the door.

He walked up to the truck and was hesitant to open the door but he did it anyways and hopped in, soon they were off.

"So um... Tord. Where exactly are we going?"

"A place." Tord said.
"What kind of place?" Tom pushed further. "A wonderful place." Tord said with a smile as he glanced at him.

"Why wont you tell me?" Tom said annoyed.

"Because if I did I would ruin the surprise." Tord said stopping at a red light. "What surprise?" "Tommy shut up and just wait and see." Tord said sighing.

"Don't call me Tommy..." Tom muddered as he crossed his arms and looked out the window.
After they're short bickering the ride to this mysterious place was quiet. It wasn't a awkward silence or an uncomfortable one, it was just soothing how the truck hummed driving on the road.

Tom took in his surroundings as be saw they were going out of the city and over to the country side. Tom grew even more curious but he knew if he tried to press Tord even more he still wouldn't get any answers.

Soon enough they had arrived at this place. When Tom looked out the front view of the car he felt his heart drop.

"Here we are the surprise I promised! A carnival!" Tord said with a wide smile and then looked over at Tom who had a nervous reaction as he fiddled with his hands.

"Uh... T-Tord I thought y-you said no crowds." Tom studdered out.

"I did. I have a friend who's dad runs this place and he blocked off a whole part of it just for us. Theres still going to be people there to run some of the stuff but there's not going to be anyone to mess with us." Tord said looking at Tom a bit concerned.

Tom sighed in relief as he gave off a slight smile.

"Okay... Lets go."
