Again thanks for reading !!!***
“You’re lying,” I said struggling to keep away the tears. I was not going to cry in front of this man, “I will get them back.”
“I’m afraid once Pan gets a hold of them, they won’t want to come back.”
The two brutes let go of me and the entire crew went back to whatever they were doing before my stunning entrance. I walked up to Hook; we were not finished with this conversation.
“Please, they’re my family. Surely there is some way to get them back,” I pleaded. Hook raised his eyebrow at me, no smile on his face.
“Look girlie, you’re never going to get them back. And even if by some miracle you did, there’s no way out of here,” Hook said took a sip out of a flask that he had wrapped around his shoulder.
“Where is here anyway!?” I shouted, tired of all the riddles.
“You’re in Neverland love. The only way out of here is to fly out,” Hook said and grabbed my arm. He began to pull me towards what I assumed was the captain’s quarters, “Now, you probably don’t want to stay in your wet underwear all day, so let’s get you changed into something a little more suitable for being on a ship, shall we?”
“Why are you being nice to me,” I said skeptically, “You’re a pirate.”
“You’re a lady, give me some credit if you will Miss Clara,” Hook said sarcastically. This isn’t how this is supposed to go. The only way I’ve ever known Hook is him being a merciless criminal. This can’t be happening. I need to get my siblings back.
“You’re supposed to be evil,” I said out loud, though I didn’t mean for the words to actually come out of my mouth.
Hook stopped rummaging through a large chest that he had just opened and looked back at me, “Who ever said I wasn’t.”
He reached back in and pulled out a large, beautiful dress. It was a deep blue color with silver embroidering all around in intricate patterns. The bodice was a corset and the sleeves looked like they should go just passed my elbows. The cleavage however, was not to my liking. The neckline went low. Very low.
“Where does a pirate acquire a dress like that?” I asked as I reached out to touch it. It was surprisingly smooth.
“Eh, not to worry, love. The princess who wore this surely won’t mind you borrowing it.”
I rolled my eyes at him, but I couldn’t help but wonder…did a princess really wear this? I carefully grabbed the complex dress out of his arms. As I did I felt the cold hook brush up against my hand. I jumped. Hook’s face fell.
“Your siblings aren’t the only things Pan took,” was all he said as he stormed out.
The dress seemed much too gorgeous to be worn on me. Once I finally had it on after minutes of struggling to put on my own corset, I looked into the mirror that sat fixed on a wall. The dress seemed to ripple with every move I made; it looked like the waves of the ocean as I walked. My hair however still sat in a terrible state. It was no longer wet, but rather now just sat on my shoulders in messy curls. If only I had something to pull it up with. I looked at the chest where Hook had pulled the dress from. Maybe there was something in there. I looked all around, finally finding a pouch with multiple hair pins in it. I pulled my hair up into a loose bun, some curls popped out around my neck, but it didn’t matter.
I stepped out of Hook’s quarters, only to feel a gust of wind on my much to open chest. I looked around. Members of the crew would glance up as I walked by, and then look back down to what they were working on.
“Ah, Ms. Darling,” Hook cooed from the stern, “You actually look like a woman now.”
I heaved a breath out, this man was going to drive me insane, “Captain, will you please help to at least find my siblings,” I asked trying to be as polite as possible. I walked up to him his eyes staring out to sea.
“Don’t call me Captain, it’s just Hook to you.”
“Hook, please,” I asked again and rested my hand on his forearm. He looked down at it.
“It’s pointless,” Hook said and turned towards me. It looked like he was about to say something else but he was interrupted by someone clearing their throat.
“Hook,” a boy yelled from one of the sails. He was…flying!
“My God!” I exclaimed surprised.
“You have something that belongs to me,” the boy said. His clothes looked tattered and natural. They were a deep green, and on his side he had a small knife. A small flicker of light could be seen next to him floating as well.
“I have nothing of yours, Pan,” Hook growled.
“You’re Pan?” I laughed, “You’re scared of a boy?” Hook glared at me. “He’s an adolescent!”
“He’s not just a boy, he’s pure evil,” Hook said with clenched teeth.
“Are you two done, I have a very busy day ahead of me,” Pan said annoyed, Hook and I both glared at him.
“What could I possibly have of yours?” Hook yelled up at him.
A cruel grin appeared on pan’s face as his finger pointed towards me, “Her.”
Before I had a chance to respond, Hook pulled me behind him, “Well she’s mine now. So carry on your way sonny,” he said, his sword now drawn from its sheath. Pan’s scowl was evident.
“Hand her over, she’s my property,” he descended from the air and landed on the deck.
“Over my dead body,” Hook grinned, “Crew!”
Men from every angle leaped towards Pan, but he jumped up and stayed suspended into the air gunshots fired at him, but he was too quick.
“You have two days to hand her over, Hook,” Pan yelled as he flew off.
“Fire the cannons at him!” Hook yelled. A crew member looked at him funny.
“Fire the cannons? But Capt’n he’s gone,” he whined. Hook glared at him before plunging his hook into the poor man’s stomach. I gasped as Hook faced the rest of the crew and me.
“Anyone else?” Hook barked. My jaw dropped, his once brilliantly blue eyes were now blood red. Slowly the red faded back to the piercing blue. The crew said nothing, but hurried to load the cannons. Pan was gone, but Hook was still aiming the cannons towards the sky.
I walked backwards away from Hook until my back hit one of the wooden posts. My breathing was heavy as my eyes fell to the man’s body lying on the deck. Blood pooled around him. Hook took notice and ordered that someone throw him overboard. He walked over to me, his hook now wiped clean of the blood.
“It’s not a big deal love,” Hook said calmly.
“Yes it is! You just took a man’s life!” I said hysterically. Hook just blinked. His expression never changing.
“Your point?” all I could do was look at him incredulously, “Now, about Pan. He obviously for some reason finds you valuable, so I won’t be handing you over.”
“But why does he want me…or my siblings for that matter?” I asked, still horrified at his calmness about the entire thing.
“He wants their shadows. The more shadows he has in his control, the more powerful he is. That’s why I said once Pan gets a hold of your siblings, they won’t want to come back. Once he takes their shadows, their memories will be erased. He’ll make them his followers. They’ll become Lost Boys.”
My eyes filled with tears and I couldn’t stop them this time. I dropped my head into my hands and wept. When I looked up, I looked anywhere but Hook’s face knowing I’d see some mocking stare. I almost jumped when I felt his finger wipe away a tear, “I am truly sorry.”
