Penny casually walks into the room," 'whats fan boy doing?"

"Shh, quiet !" Alice stands up and takes Penny by the arm, guiding him out of the room " they are casting protection spells. Look, see" she shows him a torn section of paper " I found this in my parents library. "

" Between the kama Sutra book and the joy of sex video?"

"uh , no. It was in with some of my dads research. It looks really old. Definitely powerful. Q will be wearing it, so hes holding it while Janet recites a different protection spell with every stitch that Elliott makes. It is infusing a kind of barrier into the scarf."

Excited she shows him another paper" I need pee for this. "

"ookaaay, why pee? "

" It's a recipe for increased magical strength. "

"You said recipe.. Please , please tell me I get to watch while they choke down their own piss"

" Umm, well. No , no not excatly"

"WAit, oh no no no, Hell no! There is no fucking way that you are going to get me to drink that. Penny backs away from Alice and bumps right into Kady as she's walking into the room. She smacks his shoulder" all of us will be drinking our own "

" I repeat, no fucking way"

"Aw , I thought you said that you were down to try whatever I wanted, or are you all talk?"

They are interrupted by Julia from the next room" the two of you can get your freak on later, this is ready"

Julia nudges Kady with her shoulder as she passes" All talk, aye? Is that why the name Penny? Disappointing, I took him for the more of a drop at least a nickel on ya kind a guy."

Kady laughs while Alice asks" drop a nickle?"

"ya, you know the big O. "

"OOOOOOhhh"

" Ha, ha guys, really fucking funny, can we get on with this?"

The three of them join Julia. They all instinctively join hands Alice looks to Kady "are you ready for this?"

"Eh, " she shrugs her shoulders "we need to know, what is the worst it could be?"

Penny turns his head to her" really? The beast is after us, you know what the worst is."

"I need to know why I am never there" she nods her head to Julia , who replies," this should take us to the day before."

The group holds to each other while the time travel spell takes them to the day prior to one of their previous battles with the beast.

"Oh , damn it Kady, why didn't you tell us?" The group reappears.

Elliot ,Janet and Quentin all look over to them from the couches, while sipping on their drinks. "uh oh" elliott sits up straighter, " sounds like Kady -kat has been a naughty girl" Janet adds sarcasticly " bad little pussy cat"

Quentin stand up " stop guys, they don't look like this is a joke. What happened?"

They all look at Kady, but say nothing.

"well?" Elliott says" are you going to keep us in suspense?. Spill."

"Alright, alright" Kady explains the situation about her mother, Marina and what she has done. "I was expelled , they found out. That's why I am never there at the battles"

Alice , speaking more out loud to herself, than to anyone " I assume the timeline is the same, which means you should be found out in the next day or so. That doesn't give us much time to fix it"

Janet snickers" fix it? Don't we have enough problems? Not that its not a shitty situation, girl, but you're gonna have to handle it on your own,"

Quentin gives Janet a dirty look" seriously? "

"what, the beast wants to kill us, hello. I wont apologize for not wanting to be dead."

"ok, But we need Kady with us." Quentin looks over at her sitting on a chair against the wall with her arms flat on her lap, head down. Julia standing next to her, arms crossed. Quentin knows his lifelong friend well enough to know that she is pissed at Kady, but she also knows they need her. He directs his words towards her, reaching out for her support" Kady is the only one of us with any experience in battle magic. Were screwed without her., Jules?"

'hes right"

Alice adds" agreed .I think I know what to do."

Elliott and Janet look at each other with their usual unspoken communication they both look back to everyone, "Fine" Elliott adds " not sure 'bout your brooding lover "

They all look around surprised to see Penny nowhere.

"we'll deal with him after, come on" Alice walks outside, everyone follows.

Alice gets up from her chair, walks around the room seeming to be having a conversation with herself again" actually we only need enough time to finish up and set the spell, a day or so"

Jane surprised by this" a day or so? It's too soon."

Dean Fogg with a worried expression" she is right. You haven't even flown south. It is way too early"

"Fly south? What are you..."

"Quentin , Ill explain later. " Elliott puts a hand on Quentins shoulder" Actually, Dean, Janet and I have. "

'even if we considered waiting, we can't. And we're ready" Alice looks to Dean Fogg" have we ever tried to go before Antarctica?"

Quentin confused by the mention of Antarctica " what? "

"Don't worry, I will explain later" Alice touches Quentin.

Quentin ,annoyed, looks at all in the room"am I the only one that is lost? Jules?"

"Sorry Q, Its not a big deal I will..."

he cuts her off" yeah, I know, later, Whatever."

"Dean? Have we?" Alice pressing for the answer

Jane answers instead" only once. And it didn't go well"

Kady speaking for the first time since her confession " it has never gone well, we all die, remember"

"alright then" Elliot raises the glass that he just refilled with bourbon" on that chipper little reminder, let us toast to, what? Going well?" he doesn't wait for any response, drains the glass, and reaches for the bottle again..

They argue for and against waiting, and about the their battle plans for a while longer. When they leave they have decided against the Deans advice, and have learned that the change that Jane made this time was for Kady to go and Penny to remain.

The next day they, they all gather at the cottage before they are ready to leave.

Penny, Dean Fogg and Jane watch as they press the button and disappear.

When they leave ,Jane sits down abruptly with a huge sigh" Hopefully, with out Penny the Beast wont have that psychic warning that they are arriving . Penny can you connect with any of them?"

"Already there. Lets hope the surprise gives them an advantage...... ah FUCK!!! He knew , he was waiting for them.They are already dead. What the fuck?!"

Jane stands up, hits Penny on the head with a vase, knocking him out "Alright, time to reset again"
