"Dipper!" A frightened Mabel called. She felt herself drifting farther and farther away from her brother. "Mabel!" Dipper shouted back, attempting to reach for her. "Dipper, don't leave me!" Mabel cried tearfully quickly becoming a blur in the endle...
Mabel and Will finished decribing their date, and were eating gummy koalas. "It was the best night of my life!" "My first actual date!" Mabel squealed.
"We're very happy for you Punpkin." Stan agreed ruffling her hair. "Thanks Grunkle Stan." Mabel replied squezzing him in a hug.
"So, what did you guys eat?" Stan asked. "Lazy Susan gave us Sandwiches, and tea for free!" Mabel answered.
"Sweet!" "I wish I had gone!" Wendy smiled. "It was delicious!" "Miss Susan is a very kind waitress!" Will replied.
"I'm glad you were there to make sure everything went well kid, good work!" Stan told Dipper a little to loudly because everyone heard.
"Grunkle Stan!" Dipper growled. Mabel eyed Dipper. "What do you mean Grunkle Stan?" "Dipper, you went on our first date?" She asked in surprise.
"Well I uh..." Dipper began nervously. "It was my idea Kiddo...I forced Dipper to follow you, then spy on you...but it was just to protect you!" Stan admitted.
Mabel didn't know what to feel right then....sadness....anger? She wasn't sure. "You spyed on me?" "On our date?" "Don't you trust us?" "Trust me?" She demanded.
"Of course we trust you pumpkin, Will on the other hand- Stan began.
"You don't trust Will?!" "You let him live here, you let us go on this date and you don't trust him?!" Mabel shouted making everyone jump.
"You...dont trust me?" Will inquired turning a deep blue. "I thought you always trusted me with Mabel." He questioned.
"We do...it's just..." Stan trailed off. "It's just what?!" Mabel yelled. "I thought I had a family that trusted me!" "Apparently I was wrong!" She teared up a little throwing down her bag and running upstairs. A loud slam of the door rang out and so did the sound of sobbing. Will looked hurt himself and quickly followed her.
Everyone stood in silence for a minute shocked at the girl's outburst. Suddenly, the shack door opened. Ford walked in carrying a bag of groceries. "Greetings everyone!" "I'm back from the-what's wrong?"
*cue theme song*
Stan slumped down in a chair looking mournful. Dipper hung his head. "It's all my fault." Dipper wispered. Ford looked confused.
"What is, what happened?!" "Wait, what happened to Mabel and Will?" "Are they ok?" Ford rambled in confusion.
Stan sighed. "Their fine...they just hate me." He replied sadly. Ford grew concerned at those words. "I didn't think Mabel was capable of hating anyone!" "What happened?" He asked.
"I made Dipper go along with them on their date in secret...made him spy on them and they didn't take it well when they found out." Stan admitted.
"You spyed on their first date?!" "Why?!" Ford exclaimed. "I just wanted to protect Mabel..When I was younger I fell in love with a girl named Sophie...on our first date, she left me...I was so broken...I didn't want the same thing to happen to them." Stan explained.
"Wow...I'm sorry Lee...I wasn't around when this happened." Ford stated guilty. Stan smiled. "Eh, it wasn't that bad Poindexter!" "But what am I gonna do?" "The kid and Will hate me." He sighed.
"Why don't you tell them the story of your date and explain why you did what you did?" "I'm sure they'll understand!" Soos suggested.
Stan thought a moment. "That could work, but they might not even want to face me!" He replied. "Maybe I can talk to them and convince them to come down?" Dipper suggested.
"That could work, couldn't hurt to give it a try!" Wendy agreed. Dipper went upstairs and knocked hesitantly. "Who is it?" Mabel called her voice rough from yelling and crying. "It's just me Mabel, can I come in?" Dipper called.
He heard Will say "Let him in." And opened the door closing it behind him. "Mabel, Will...I know your upset but Grunkle Stan had me spy on you for a good reason, please let him explain...he's convinced you both hate him..." Dipper explained.
Mabel sighed and wiped her eyes. "I'd never hate anyone, except for Bill, but I could never hate Grunkle Stan." She stated.
"Yes, I do not hate either, I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation for what he did." Will spoke turning his normal yellow color. Dipper smiled. "So You'll let Stan explain?" He asked hopefully.
The two smiled exchanging glances. "Sure, let's go." Mabel agreed taking Will's hand and walking downstairs. Stan looked up and nervously smiled. "Mabel, Will...I'm sorry...I never meant to upset you, I was just trying to protect you both...I'm sorry I said I didn't trust you...that came out wrong, I trust you both fully...Stan began.
"I was 35....just met a girl named Sophie, went on a date .... He started.
A young, black haired girl laughed as 35 year old Stanley Pines was telling some corny jokes in a restaurant...."Your so funny, Stan!" She complimented.
Stan blushed as they ate and replied, "Thanks Soph!" "Your not that bad yourself!" Sophie turned a deep red and playfully shoved Stan. He unexpectey fell back and knocked over his wine glass spilling it all over his date's white dress....she freaked and yelled.
"You idiot!" "This was an $80 dress!" Sophie shrieked. Stan held up both hands in defense. "Woah, hey your the one who shoved me!" He protested. Sophie glared at him before throwing her drink at him and storming out leaving a tearful Stanley Pines alone at the table with a crowd of onlookers watching and laughing....
"And that's what happened, I didn't want the same thing to happen to you...I don't want to go through another heartbreak..." Stan concluded wiping a tear ftom his eye at the memory.
Mabel choked him in a hug. "Omg Grunkle Stan that sounded horrible!" "I'm so sorry!" "I'm sorry I yelled at you and said those things, I was just upset...thanks for protecting me, I love you!" Mabel rambled.
"Thanks sweetie, I'm glad!" "Will, you um cool with me?" Stan asked the demon. Will smiled and joined in the hug. "Of course, I'm happy that we have family looking out for us." He replied.
Candy and Grenda teared up hugging them, Wendy and Soos clapped in triamph, and Ford mouthed to his brother, "Told ya!" They all shared one big family group hug. Mabel cried out, "I couldn't ask for a better family!"
"Sometimes, family looking out for you is a good thing..."
************************* A/N: Hey Peeps! Hope y'all enjoyed the chapter! The chapter began with drama and caos, but ended in forgiveness and love! That's what true family is! In the next chapter, the group heads to the mini golf course to compete against each other...to unlikely individuals may come along for the ride...What will go down? Who will win? Who will lose?
