For the rest of the block, I helped Heath with the work. He was a fast learner so I really didn't mind, and when I commented on this he replied with a sincere "Thank you." Possibly the reason the teacher had paired us was that she knew he hadn't covered the material, and I had the best test grades in the class. Although if Heath kept learning at the speed he was now, by the next subject I could have a rival for that. Or at least as close to one as I would get in this school.
It wasn't all work though. We traded jokes and spent a good part of the class laughing, careful to keep it quieter than at the beginning of class. Who would have known that when I wasn't trying to beat the kid up, I would get along so well with him? It did make me wonder, though, if I would be able to fight with him the same as I could now. And what would happen if I couldn't.
The next class I had was math, though, so unfortunately I didn't get the chance to bring this up with Heath. I made a mental note to do it afterwards, in health.
I can't really say what we learned in math this block. I don't remember much, seeing as I was still a bit distracted from meeting my archnemesis/best friend
Best friend? Where had that come from? As of less than 2 hours ago I hadn't even known the guy's name. Although I suppose that when you have no other friends, technically your one almost-friend is your best friend. Even if you're not sure whether you're going to be beating him up anymore or not.
My life is weird.
Hopefully seeing Heath next class will help straighten it all out a bit.
