Someone knocked on the door. It was Aunt Alicia. "Clary? Baby, please open the door." Then Clary immediately responded. "No, no I won't. Leave me alone." She was still crying. Her eyes were red and swollen. "Clary, I have the keys, I'll open the door." Aunt Alicia twisted the key, turned the doorknob and opened the door. When she opened the door, Clary's room was a mess. "Auntie, what happened to dad?" Clary whipping her tears in her cheeks. "Well, according to the investigators. The killers were asking some money. A big amount of money. And your dad won't give it to them. So eventually, they killed your dad. And according to the letter left on your dad's body, they'll come after you. I know Clary it's hard for you, but it's hard for me too; he was my brother. And i'm extremely worried about you." Clary panicked as the words "coming after you" echoed in her head. "What?! What am I gonna do? I don't wanna die, I don-" Before even Clary can finish her sentence, a boy walked in to her room wearing a blur shirt and black pants. He looks familiar. "No one's gonna die Fray." He said. "And who are you?" She asked. "Clary, this is Agent Jace Herondale. Your bodyguard." Clary looked confused. She doesn't need a bodyguard. She can take care of herself, except for situations like this. "Body what?" Before her Aunt can respond, Agent Herondale spoke. "Bodyguard. My name is Jace. 18." For a second Clary realized who the guy is. She had saw him in school and in Biology class. "Wait? You go to my school? And I bumped to you earlier." she said. "Yes, and for your information Dr. Jem Carstairs owns the school and not you." Clary glares at him. "So that means you'll be my bodyguard?" Said Clary. "Yeah." Clary thought he looked annoyed, which he is. Then Clary turned to look at her Aunt, with her disapproving look. "Auntie..." She said. "It's for your best dear." Reaching out her hand grabbing Clary's. "I wanna hate you Auntie but I love you." She said and hugged Aunt Alicia. "Honey, I need to go. I still have a job you know." Said Aunt Alicia and she turned to Jace. "And you Agent, take care of my niece." Jace immediately replied. "Yes ma'am." Then she left.
"So, Agent Jace, how are you?" asked Clary. "I'm fine ma'am." Then Clary burst into laughter. "You know what Agent, it's awkward for you callling me ma'am. We go to the same school together. So just call me Clary." Said Clary. "Yes ma- I mean Clary." Said Jace. "And I'll start calling you Jace." Jace nodded and smiled. "So... Jace, let's talk." Then Jace smirked. Clary thought it was cute, then she shooked her head. The both of them talked, until they ended up watching a movie. "You know what Jace?" Jace turned his head to Clary showing his beautiful blue eyes. "You don't talk too much. All you ever said was Yes, No, Maybe, Yeah." Said Clary. "I haven't mentioned Yes yet." Said Jace. "Yeah, whatever. I'll just go to sleep then. Night." Said Clary yawning. "Goodnight Clary." Then Jace waved goodbye to Clary. When Clary shut the door behind her, Jace smiled.
