CHAPTER 1: First Sight

My dad drove me to the airport with the windows rolled down.  It was raining. I was wearing my favorite white dress. I can’t believe it, I’m actually living in LA with my mom! I haven’t seen her for years. I’m finally going to meet my brothers and sisters! It was so cool my dad agreed that I should live with my mother. I’m finally leaving Forks! I’ve been waiting for this day to come. My parents got divorced ever since I was 2. I’ve been living with my dad for 12 years.

Finally, we arrived at the airport. Dad helped me carry my luggage. I said my goodbyes. I took my seat and closed my eyes.

It’s a four hour flight from Forks to Phoenix, and then an hour in a small plane up to Port Angeles; I have to ride another plane. I was on my way to Los Angeles. I just have to sit back and relax for sixteen hours.

I went out of the plane. Mom had really been fairly nice about the whole thing. She seemed pleased that I was going to live with her. She’d already gotten me registered for high school and was going to buy me a car.

But it was sure to be awkward with mom. Neither of us was what anyone would call verbose, and I didn’t know what there was to say regardless.

Mom, her bodyguards and the driver were waiting for me. This I was expecting too, Mom is the President, Owner and CEO of the famous, Greene Inc.

Mom gave me an awkward, one-armed hug when I stumbled my way off the plane.

“It’s nice to see you again, Gel” she said, smiling as she automatically caught and steadied me. “You haven’t changed much. How’s Tom?”

“Dad’s fine. It’s good to see you, too, Mom.” I wasn’t allowed to call her Ana to her face. I had lots of bags. Most of my Forks clothes were to permeable for L.A.

“I bought you a car. Actually, it’s a pink Porsche 911 turbo” she announced when we were strapped in. “OMG, a Porsche?! Thank you so much mom, you’re the best!” Then I hugged her.

We exchanged a few more comments on the weather. We stared out the windows in silence. It was beautiful, of course; I couldn’t deny that.

Eventually, we made it to moms. She lived in a mansion. She showed me my room. My room was so cool, white walls, one large bed with pink beddings, and a flat screen TV mounted on my wall, a study table with a computer, my own bathroom, my own Wi-Fi, my own veranda and a walk-in closet with new clothes. I was surprised to see clothes on my walk-in closet, organized. I thanked mom. Logged on my twitter on my iPhone and tweeted “just arrived in LA. I miss Forks T_T.” Then I checked my mentions. I got lots of replies. I want to answer them one by one but I was tired so I tweeted “Jet lag, will try to answer your questions tomorrow, bye”

One of the best things about mom is she doesn’t hover.  She left me alone to unpack and rest, a fear that would have been altogether impossible for my dad. It was nice to be alone, not to have to smile and look pleased. I wasn’t in the mood to go on a real crying jag. I would save that for bedtime, when I would have to think about the coming morning.

Los Angeles High School had a frightening total of five thousand two hundred and fifty seven. I was afraid that I would end up in the “Jerks Table” But I don’t have to worry, I’m pretty, smart and awesome and not to mention my mom owns the famous “Greene Inc.”

I didn’t sleep well that night, even after I was done crying.

Breakfast with mom, my sisters and my brothers was even quiet. They wished me good luck. I thanked them. Then I went to my room and got ready. I changed my PJs into something comfy (Link Below)
