Tommy stopped his bike at the top of the hill and scoured the grassy plain below for Eli, who had promised to be waiting. Sure enough, there he was, with all his equipment in tow. Grinning, he coasted down the hill, only stopping when he was an inch from crashing into Eli. He hopped off his bike and let it clatter noislessly to the ground.

"Well? Is it all ready? Did you get everything?" He bounced on the tips of his toes, as if to better explain his excitement."How long do you think it'll take? Do you think we have enough supplies? Cuz you know, I've always had a problem with midnight snacking and I get hungry a lot and-" Tommy was interrupted by Eli, who said

"Dude, breathe. Remeber?" Tommy nodded, smiling slightly. "Well?" he questioned, and Eli chuckled a bit. "No, it's not all ready yet, I only got here a few minutes ago. Yes, I have all the necessary equipment. I don't know how long it'll take, but I brought enough supplies to last an entire night, and with all the things you brought, maybe the whole weekend. And yes, I know you get hungry a lot."

Tommy, who couldn't contain himself anymore, busted out in a one sided conversation, mainly questions directed at Eli, but he didn't mind. Tommy's constant chatter helped to fill the otherwise silent, lonely void in his life.

The boys finished setting all their things up, Eli proving to be more productive than Tommy, and went through the checklist to see if they had all if the necessary equipment with them.

"Night vision video camera?"

"Check"

"Alien-Tracking radar?"

"Check"

"Astrology Chart?"

"Check"

"Cell-phones?"

"Check"

"Telescope?"

"Check"

"Well, looks like we've got everything, but we've still got a bit before sundown. Man, I'm so excited, Can you imagine the awards we'll get for finding and witnessing evidence to alien existence? What would our moms say? Oh crap, what would our moms say?" Tommy rambled, coming to the sudden realisation of the amount of trouble they would be in if their parents ever found that they snuck out.

"Well, my mom thinks I'm at your house, so I'm good. She'll probably just think we stargazed in the backyard all night." Eli said slowly. "I had a bit of trouble convincing her it was true without calling you, you know how I don't get out much.."

Tommy nodded, grimacing. "MY mom thinks I'm at YOUR house. So what happens if they ever get together and actually CONVERSE? They find out, that's what! And then we'll be in a hot, steaming, pile of beans, and I'll probably be watched like a hawk all the time to make sure it doesn't happen again, so bye bye social life, I never loved you, anyways, except I did, and-"

"DUDE. CHILL. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it, okay?" Eli interrupted, placing a gentle hand on Tommy's shoulder. "Now, what do you say we set up camp and have a little dinner?" Tommy shook his dirty blonde curls out of his face and nodded, sighing. They pulled out Eli's big, fluffy blanket and laid it on the ground, pulling out the food they had brought for dinner.

"Sho," said Tommy through a mouthful of Oreo's, "Do ya think wull akshully see sum aleens?"

"Well, I think we'll see something really cool, even if it's not aliens. I've got a gut feeling about this. Something amazing is going to occur tonight." Eli responded, and the air suddenly grew heavy with his words, and the boys ate the rest of their insufficient dinner in silence, pondering his words.
