When I went to school the next morning Crystal handed me her new edition of the schools newspaper that she just worked on. In a blink of an eye she disappeared into a crowd of swarming teenagers desperate to get their hands on a copy of the article.
That hour I had a free period so I decided to go to the library and read through the newspaper since Crystal wrote it and everyone seemed to be such a fan of it. As I get to the middle of the newspaper I notice the headline 'New girl gets her claws stuck into Matt Everton'
How could somebody write such an article about me then get Crystal to publish it where the whole school could read it. I had only been here four days and already I feel like an outcast.
When I finally got the chance to speak to Crystal about the newspaper article she explained that somebody had paid the school representatives to write a final article once Crystal had finished writing it. Of course she didn't want to lose her position so she did as she told especially since she had no idea what they were going to write about.
I was so ashamed and upset about everything that happened that I honestly thought nothing could get any worse. Just as I said that my worst nightmare occurred. Maddison White alongside her minions stormed towards me with huge smirks on their faces.
"Listen I didn't write that article but I applaud the person who did, so I suggest you stay clear of Matt OR ELSE!"
With that I departed and kept my head down for the rest of the day. As I was leaving I felt a soft hand reach for my wrist to grab my attention. It was Matt, he had a sorry look on his face and I felt I already knew what he was about to say.
"I'm really sorry about the article I'm going to make who ever did this pay for what they've done to you".
" Listen thank you Matt but honestly it's fine besides I don't want you getting into any sort of trouble with your girlfriend"
Matt was confused and so I told him about the stern conversation Maddison had with me earlier and told it was best we didn't talk to each other unless it was about the project. What happened next shocked me even more then the article did!
Matt asked if I wanted to go to his best friend Nicks party tomorrow night as a way of apologising for everything that had happened. Even though Maddison told me to stay clear of her boyfriend I decided I wasn't going to live my life fearing her or being put down by what she may or may not have put in the schools newspaper.
