Alot has happened over the months, Jason's murder still hadn't been solved. After Mrs. Grundy had skipped town they had found out she wasn't who she said she was. Archie fessed up saying that they were together the morning of the 4th of July. The only trouble he got in was with his father, he was grounded for 6 month. Quite a harsh punishment but it was the only thing his father could think of.
Without seeing Archie all the time Betty's crush had faded away from him and grew for another one of their friends. When Archie was finally ungrounded it was almost Valentines day, Betty already asked Veronica to the Valentines dance. Archie couldn't ask Cheryl because she was already taken by Reggie, Kevin was taken by Moose, basically everyone was taken. Archie ran up to Jughead in the back booth of pops, "Uh... Hey, do you have a date to the Valentine's dance?" He asked nervously. Jughead chuckled "Ran out of horny teens to ask?" Jughead rolled his eyes. Archie nodded and Jughead sighed "No... Pick me up in 3 hours, don't bail on me or I will destroy you Andrews," he warned Archie, "I won't," He did a little victory dance and turned around running to his house.
Jug head absolutely hated dances, he thought they were the corniest things ever. He said yes because he missed his best friend, he hated to admit to himself he kinda was hurt that he wasn't the first one he asked. Jughead placed his laptop in his backpack and headed home after finishing his meal.
Archie skipped up the stair to the front porch, he knelt down and played with Vegas. "Not being grounded got you that happy?" His dad chuckled, "Yeah... And Jughead and I are going to the Valentine dance together tonight!" He smiled. "I always knee you guys were more than friends," He said genuinely happy for the boy, "What do you mean?" Archie tilted his head confused at his father. "Nothing, go get ready," he chuckled and Archie did as told.
Archie put on a red button up dress shirt, he tucked them into his black pants, and then put on a blazer. He brushed his teeth again and touched up his hair. He put on the friendship necklace him and Jughead had made at summer camp when they were little, he knew Jughead would tease him for it but he didn't care.
Archie had a like two more hours before he had to pick up Jughead, he was so bored. "You look nice son," His father smiled at the boy obviously to his own feelings for his childhood friend. "I have two more hours before I have to pick him up," Archie sighed impatiently. "I have a idea..." His father said sitting down on the end of the bed, Archie turned around and raised a eyebrow listening.
--2 hours later--
Jughead hated that he was caring so much, he hadn't thought about his appears this much ever. He had only 4 out fits he wears and they are mostly black, he dug into the gifts his grandparents and friends of his parents and got for him. He put on a pale pink button up shit, some dark tan khakis, and he put on his regular black converses. He fixed his hair 5 different ways but eventually just put on his beanie. Jughead panicked once he heard a knock in the front door
[I]Archie: Outside
[I]Jughead: Sorry... Give me like 10 more minutes pleaseJughead thought he would be at least 30 minutes late, but he was on time. Jughead tucked his shirt into his pants and then put on a brown belt. He found their old friendship necklace and put it on after spraying some cologne on.
Archie leaned against the car his father had let him barrow, he watched the sun about to set and repositioned the dozen of roses in his hands. He saw the door open and Jughead walked out, he mouth dropped and eyes widened. He hadn't seen Jughead wear anything that shows his skinny figure, the color of his shirt complemented his skin tone. "You look really nice," Archie shook his head and then handed out the roses, he took them and then smelled them "T-thanks," he said trying not to seem to happy about it.
Archie opened the door for Jughead "I have arms you know?" he said as he got in and Archie chuckled. Archie started driving and it was quiet, he past the school. "You know we just passed the school?" Jughead pointed confused and Archie smiled nodding. Archie was so confused about his feelings right now, did he like Jughead?
Archie drove down to the river bay where he and his father set up a candle lit picnic. "This is so corny I'm gonna throw up," Jughead tried to act disgusted but he couldn't fight the huge grin on his face. "Really? You should tell your face that," Archie joked and Jughead blushed.
Archie brought take out from the Chinese restaurant, he let Jughead sit down and he plated the food. He lit the candles and then sat down in front of Jughead. "Jug... I can't contain whats going through my mind right now. D-do you like me? I think I like you..." Archie said bluntly and it surprised Jughead. He always found Archies Hopless Romantic side annoying but liked it when it was directed toward him.
Jughead didn't know what he was feeling, he shrugged confused as well. "I've never felt anything towards anyone like I do with you... So maybe?" He admitted. "Let me try something..." Archie crawled closer to him and hesitated colliding there lip. They quickly got in sync together and Jug kissed back. Archie pressed against Jugheads lower back telling him to lean back, he laid down amd Archie straddled him dominantly. He pulled away and they looked each other in the eyes, "Lets slip the dance..." Archie smiled making Jughead laugh "Thank god," he sighed. He played with Archies necklace and smiled "You still have it?" He smiled and twirled it around his fingers, Archie bit his lip and then continued kissing his best friend.
