CHAPTER 3

I knew Niall and Harry weren't normal after several weeks in the institution. I expected them to break after being in solidarity for a week, then moved into the corridors once again. Everybody was used to the constant attacks, the loud screams and the Escape attempts. I knew what I had to do in each scenario, but it was never enough.

Harry and Niall were too quiet, they followed every single rule and did as they were told. Yet, most people break after their first week in solidarity. A week after they were put in solidarity, they were put back into their respective corridors. So many people who are put in solidarity had psychotic breaks. They had fits and several screamed all through the night and had to be restrained and drugged.

I had been walking though the corridors passing out food, looking though charts and filling out reports on several solitary patients. Janice, the head nurse, was the most experienced in here. She was in her late 60's and had short, curling white hair with a kind face. She tapped my shoulder lightly and said " honey, could you please take these trays to room 2B and 6C? I would but I'm a tad bit busy with sorting out the other nurses schedules."

I nodded and smiled " yeah, sure. No problem Janice." I took the trays from her and walked around the corridors, searching for room 2B.

As I took several turns I tried remembering who was in the room. I reached the door to the small room and unlocked it, setting down the other tray of food down on a small chair that was left beside the door. I went inside and closed the door behind me. I heard the bed springs creak and a small laugh, jumping in surprise when I saw the man sitting down at the edge of the bed. I don't know how I didn't see him when I came in. I turned around and set the tray down on his bedside table, not daring to look up at his piercing blue eyes. I held my head down as I walked towards the door when he said "aren't you gonna tell me your name love?" I looked up at him and mumbled "it's Amy...." Niall ran a hand through his messy blonde hair and said "it's quite nice to meet you Amy." I gulped and nodded "I-I have to go now." I turned around quickly and opened the door, slamming it behind myself and leaving him with no other response.

I sighed and picked up the last tray and headed towards 6C. I took my time, not wanting any surprises when I opened the door. I finally reached 6C and opened the door. The room was dark. The windows were covered and not a single stream of light came through. I blinked several times, trying to adjust my eyes to the lack of light in the room " Hello?" I squinted and set the tray on a nearby table in the room. I heard movement so I walked towards it. I felt someone push me roughly against the wall and a hand clamp over my mouth. I lost my breath and the only thing I saw in this darkness was his fiery green eyes and a devilish grin. The man moved closer to me and said in his deep voice " well, hello there darling. I didn't expect you to come here."
