I could feel the sharp rocks digging into my feet. The branches cutting my face and body as I ran past trees. The trees were never ending, once I pasted one, another came. I could feel little triplets of my blood dripping from the open wounds. I had to keep going, I couldn't let them take me back to that forsaken place. I could hear yells coming from the tribal men, the anger seeped from their voices. They were getting closer and closer to me, my body was growing tired from the constant running. That's when I ran into the tribal chief. He looked at me with anger and disappointment. He was gripping my arms so tightly, he wouldn't let me run from him and his warriors. I felt two of the warriors grab me from behind and start dragging me to a unknown location. When their torches shone over a hole, I saw snakes slithering about in it. I felt tears begin to prick my eyes as I saw these dreadful creatures. I started to struggle against their grips, whimpers and screams leaving my throat at they shoved me towards the hole. That's when I felt my feet leave the ground, and the feeling of falling take over my body. Suddenly my body hit the ground, the creatures bit at my open wounds and any other part they could bite. The torches started to head away as the men left me to die. I could see the sun starting to raise, at least it would be the last thing I would see before dying. When my body had stopped thrashing around, the snakes started to go back to their own devices. My body grew numb from the pain and my eye became so heavy. I couldn't keep them open any longer. I heard rustling from above, I couldn't call for help for I no longer could speak from my screams. Then I heard a scream of someone from above.
"Mikael!" I heard the voice of woman scream out. I heard the shouts of some men as they came to her aid. I heard them talking, but I couldn't comprehend what was being said. It was like I couldn't understand words anymore.
"Get her out of there!" The woman's voice spoke out.
"She's probably dead, you don't know how long she's been there, Esther." The woman seemed angered by the tone of her voice as they continued to talk to each other. That's when I heard rustling begin and words of 'be careful' come from the voices. My body was suddenly lifted up from the ground and into the arms of this stranger. Suddenly my body was placed on the ground again. I felt a woman kneeling besides me. A hand was against my forehead in just few seconds.
"She's alive, bring my bag. We might be able to save this girl." I could faintly hear the rustling of this woman digging through her bag. I could barley hang on any longer then I already was. I felt a calloused hand force my mouth open and tilt my head back.
"Now what, dear?" A man spoke out.
"Hold her still, this is dark magic and will cause her extreme pain. It will save her, but if she dies in the next year or so she could turn into a beast that lives forever." This woman's voice sounded like a melody bringing me towards death. I felt a cold, lumpy liquid being forced down my throat. My throat started clenching and I couldn't breath. I started to cough and thrash. The woman could be heard saying 'hold her still!' But it was apparently a hard task. In just a moment I felt my body go still. My eyelids seemed less heavy, but they stayed closed and I drifted off to sleep. Before I was asleep, I felt someone pick my body up from the ground and start to carry me somewhere.
-A FEW HOURS LATER-
My eyes began to open slowly, I could feel my body on something soft like a bed. Was this what heaven was like?
