Mickey stared at the Gremlin cages. All of his friends trapped hopelessly over a thinner pool.

Mickey said, "Mortimer, why are you helping Pete."

"You seem shocked. I was ignored for years when I was in the Cartoon World. Always shadowed by you. I was infinitely more talented and my genius was overlooked in favor of the one who could sell more merchandise. In Wasteland, it was no better, but once Oswald is overthrown I'll rule Wasteland with Minnie by my side."

The machine rose from the sinkhole. It was a huge robot with cannons for eyes. The two brothers prepared for battle. Mortimer fired a flaming ball of steel from the cannon. Mickey's spin attack redirected the projectile and smashed a beetleworx beside the machine. The shock-wave stunned the robot and it fell to its knees. Mickey got to work filling the cannons with paint. The robot fired but the clogged cannons caused the robot to receive damage. This was repeated several times until the robot was blown open. Mortimer regained conscientiousness. When he awoke a brush was pointed square in his face.

"What are you gonna do? I know you don't have it in you to..." his sentence was finished with a face full of paint. Mortimer passed out again and got up.

"My head is killing me," he said. "Mickey is that you. What's going on?"

"You were attacking us just a few seconds ago. Maybe you should answer that question," Mickey retorted.

"I was walking through Ventureland when this giant black blob of ink surrounded me. I don't know anything else. I have this map on me if it helps."

There was a big red X over Tortooga.

The cages swung open and Donald and Mickey's nephews were free. Mortimer fixed the projector and they headed to fight Pete Pan.
