~Emma's POV~
"I feel like we've been going in circles." Emma sighed, looking around at her surroundings.
Xander kept walking. "Maybe."
"I'm excited for Valentine's Day." Emma blurted randomly.
"It's a long time away," Xander chuckled. "Why are you excited for it?"
"Because I wanna send you chocolate, and candy, and maybe even a stuffed animal." Emma grinned.
"Is that a challenge?" Xander asked. "I bet I can get you more gifts."
"Oh really? We'll see about that." Emma laughed.
"We'll see." Xander smiled.
"Wait, I think I see camp!" Emma gasped.
Xander sighed. "So we never made any progress looking for Griff and Zuri?"
"No.. but while we're here, we might as well check on everyone." Emma suggested.
They were making their way into the entrance of camp when Emma felt a snap on her ankle.
"What-" Emma's leg was suddenly tied to a nearby tree, pulling her until she was hanging upside down from a branch.
"Emma!!" Xander shouted, trying to untie the rope.
"It's okay! Just get help!" Emma screamed.
~Xander's POV~
Xander ran for camp as fast as he could. He was completely aware of everything around him.
"Run, keep running, keep running.." Xander whispered to himself.
He ran so fast he eventually collapsed. It was only a moment before he became a victim of another trap.
"No!" Xander shouted as a figure appeared in the shadows. "What the heck do YOU want?!"
The figure said nothing as he got closer. Xander got up and started running again, but it was no use. The figure grabbed Xander by the arms and tied his hands behind his back.
"What is this, some sort of joke?! Let me go!" Xander yelled, struggling to break free.
He continued to yell as the figure dragged him into the shadows of the woods.
~Zuri's POV~
"What are you doing?" Griff asked as he watched Zuri search around the lawn.
Zuri turned her head to Griff. "Looking for notes that Emma or Xander could've left."
"Oh." Griff seemed uneasy as Zuri approached Grizzly cabin.
She noticed. "What's with the look?"
"Maybe you should look somewhere else.." Griff insisted.
"Why would I want to look somewhere else?" Zuri kept digging through the bin in front of the cabin. She spotted an envelope, and pulled it out.
"Wait, Zuri, don't-"
Zuri started opening the envelope and reading the letter before Griff could finish.
Dear Zuri,
By the time you read this, it will be Valentine's Day. This isn't anything fancy, I just wanted to tell you thanks for always being there for me :) You're the best girlfriend a guy could ask for.
Happy Valentine's Day! -Griff
"Griff.." Zuri mumbled, speechless. She jumped up and hugged him.
"It wasn't supposed to be opened until next year, haha..." Griff laughed nervously, his face turning red.
"Well, you know what that means, right?" Zuri asked.
Griff shook his head. "What?"
"Valentine's Day in summer!" Zuri exclaimed.
Griff laughed. "I guess that is what it means."
