-ALANA pov-

"Wake up, sweetie." Makuahine, mom, said while shaking me lightly. The light streamed through the window and I could smell the ocean. I live in Hawaii. My mother is from Hawaii, while my dad is from China. "Is it today?" I asked. She nodded, "You have until 5:45. Now go do stuff with Elle." She shoo'd me out of bed and walked out the door. It's 12:47 so I have around 4 hours with Elle. I pulled of my pajamas and got into a teal bikini. I pulled on a pair of short black board shorts. Rosy and I are going surfing before I leave. I walked next door to her house and knocked on the door. In a matter of seconds it was flung open by Elle. "Hey! Let's go." She ran out the door. She got her surfboard from the side of her house and I grabbed mine. We ran to the beach where there were already a few people tanning, swimming, and surfing. We ran out to the ocean and paddled out into the deeper water. "Are you sure you want to go out there? I mean, it's not that safe for two little girls!" A voice from behind us shouted. "Yeah, maybe you should go back." I yelled at him. When I turned around I saw Cory. He's from California or something. "Fine, it's on you if you get hurt." He yelled. He swam in another direction, away from us. I saw a giant wave coming and turned around to catch it. I stood up as soon as I was sure of the wave and started down the forming tunnel.

"I'm going to miss you." Elle said. She got teary eyed. I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her close. "I'll miss you too." I let a tear go down my cheek. "I'll see you in about a month." She said and let go of me. I nodded and moved onto my mom."Bye." My voice cracked. "Take care of yourself. And remember, Elle is coming up to see kupuna wahine and you in a month." "I'll miss you makuahine." I kissed her cheek and walked onto the plane. I sat in my seat and drifted to sleep as the plane took off from the ground.

A flight attendant shook me awake and let me know that the plane was unboarding. I thanked her and got off the plane. I got my bags that I brought and walked to the place where my grandma was picking me up. "Excuse me." A person asked in Chinese as the ran past me. I forgot about the language change for a second. I sat on a bench and waited. "Alana!" I heard a voice call, after two minutes of sitting. I waked over to my grandma and tightly hugged her. "I missed you." I said in Chinese. "Same." She said back. (Everything is said in Chinese from now on unless I say so.) We got into her car and made a quick trip to her house.

"Do you want to go out?" She asked. I nodded in response and got my phone and wallet. We walked out of the house and down the street. It's about time for dinner. We walked around until we found a little restaurant on a corner. It was relatively empty. There was a couple in their thirties, a family of 4, and a large group of boys. We sat down at a small table and someone came to ask us about food and drinks.

After dinner we were walking into random stores where we had some old memories. "O.M.G! I love this hat." I squealed. I grabbed it and put it on in front of a mirror. "Come on, sweetie." K.P. waved me towards the door. K.P. stands for Kupuna Wahine, meaning Grandmother in Hawaiian. "One second. I'll be right there." I said and walked to the cashier. She nodded and stood just outside the door. As I waited for the cashier to scan the price there was a large commotion outside. I shrugged it off as nothing and gave her the money. I didn't even use a bag, I just put the hat on my head and out of the store. Where'd she go? I looked to see a medium sized crowd a few feet away from the store. I pushed to the front and gasped. "K.P." My voice cracked. It was my grandmother laying on the ground with a stab wound. She grabbed my hand and I cried as I heard sirens coming. Most of the people started leaving and others looked to sad to even consider moving. "Please, everyone go home. I'm sorry but you need to leave miss." Said one of the people in a hospital outfit. "But she's my grandmother." I cried. "I'm sorry but we must take her. We'll call you later about her condition." They ran her into the ambulance and I wiped my wet hands on my pants. I looked at my shoes and soon noticed that my hands had been wet with blood. That made me cry worse than before. I was soon left to cry alone on the street.

I finally got the courage to leave this spot. I stood up and walked back to the house that would be sad and empty. I was walking by the woods when a noise caught my attention. I looked over to see a pair of bright red eyes. They were terrifying and beautiful at the same time. Lured my towards them. I feel like a stupid girl in one of those horror movies. As I got closer the eyes went further away from me. Soon enough we were in the middle of a clearing and the moon was shining bright on me and a large wolf. I'm surprised it hasn't attacked me. But at this point I don't really have the right mind to do the smart thing and run. I walk closer and hold my hand out. The wolf snarls and makes me shoot my hand back. He then looks back up to my eyes and whimpers. I can't tell what it's thinking at all. suddenly it lunged and I screamed. But it didn't lunge at me. It lunged at something just behind me. I turned to see the wolf on top of a coyote. I gasped and stood there dumbfounded. I don't know why I still didn't run. I've just always had this weird connection and loving for wolves. I felt something nudge my legs from behind me. I jumped and turned to see another wolf. This one's eyes were a different shade of red and it had a small golden streak in its fur. As if it was talking to me it led me away from the scene. If a person was watching they would think this wolf was leading me to a death trap. But for some reason I didn't feel that way. The wolf led me to another clearing before running off in the direction of the other wolf. I sat against a tree not really knowing where I was.

I was slowly falling asleep when I heard branches rustling. Suddenly there was a coyote in front of me. It looked scraggly and vicious. I did not have fuzzy feelings for these. It ran at me and tried to bite my throat. I put my hands on it in an attempt to push it away. I felt a large shock run through me and the coyote as all of the hairs on it stood straight up and it stumbled back before falling to the ground. I screamed in shock. Almost as soon as I screamed two people came running through the clearing. They looked at me, then the coyote, then me again. One walked to the coyote and the other to me. "Are you okay?" He asked. He was pretty cute. "Yeah, thank you." I said and wrapped my arms around him. "What'd I do?" He asked. "You were just there." I whispered into his chest. "Kris, come here." The one by the coyote said. He had a parental look to him. Kris, as the other called him, left me and started whispering to the other boy. Kris came back over to me. "Why don't we take you back to ours for tonight?" He offered. I nodded. He helped me up. I walked a little behind him. The other one soon came to stand by me. "I'm Suho." He said. I nodded. Walked by me the whole way back to their house.

(Elle on the side. Also, if you could, please get the word out about my story.)
