"Heath give it back!" Clover cried out, tired of the eight year old boy stealing her treasured stuffed rabbit that her father had given her. She jumped up and down while Heath held the little toy over her head.
"Come and get it little human." Heath said in a challenging way.
Clover knew that she was too small and looked down almost crying when her knight came to her aid as usual.
"Heath give it back." Tristan said, annoyance and slight anger in his voice. Out of the three brothers he was the youngest, but even at a young age had this way with making people do what he wanted.
"Little brother why do you always ruin my fun with Clover? She was having fun too look!"
Clover was sitting on the ground trying not to sob in front of her protector. Tristan was always helping her, ever since she came to the castle with her father. Her father was an adviser to the king, and took Clover with him as a way of merging vampire and human children. So that hopefully there would be some type of peace.
Tristan yanks the rabbit away from his older brother and hands it carefully to Clover. "Here you go little flower." He said with a toothy grin on his face. Clover took the rabbit and held it close to her heart. She got up from the ground as Tristan held out his hand, she took it without hesitation.
"Wanna go to the pond and skip rocks?" He asked.
"Yes of course!" Her excitement made Tristan happy.
The two seven year olds walked away from Heath, who was giving the evil eye, and headed towards the pond.
