*Kaitlyn*
Our band won the competition with ease. Just like everyone said we would.
Anna, however, wasn't happy that we won. Oh no. She was too busy obsessing over the fact that, in less than an hour, we'd be on a bus heading to LA with Hello From Hell. And Christian Hicks.
"Isn't he dreamy...?" She asks from where she's perched on my desk in my bedroom. Her suitcase is already packed, she'd brought it with her when she's slept over the night before, and I still had to get everything together. I'd hoped that, if I didn't pack, we wouldn't end up going. It's not that I'm not happy for going, because I definitely am, I'm just not looking forward to the Christian Hicks part.
“Yeah,” I nod absentmindedly as I throw an Asking Alexandria t-shirt into my suitcase.
“Kaitlyn, can I ask you something?” Anna looks up from her phone, which she’s been texting nonstop on for the past half hour, to look at me.
“Sure,” I stand up and crack my back, twisting myself from side to side.
“Um…” She looks down at the floor. “Did you see the way he was looking at you?”
“Excuse me?”
“Christian,” She says as if the answer is obvious. “The way he was looking at you during our performance.”
“No, I didn’t…”
Shit, I think. He knows who I am.
“Well, he was looking at you like he was…it was like he was…” Anna spends a moment trying to find the right word.
“Like he was…?” I nod encouragingly.
“Like was mesmerized!” Anna snaps her finger when she finds the right word. “He looked totally into you.”
“Anna…”
“No, no, it’s cool with me if he is. His drummer, Alex, is pretty hot too.” She holds out her phone to me so I can see her new background. It’s Alex.
“Anna, I think you’re getting a little too carried away…”
“Kaitlyn,” Anna says, getting up, walking over to me and putting a hand on my shoulder. “He looks at you like Rocky looks at the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.”
“I’m pretty sure the look wasn’t that intense…”
The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are the only reason why Rocky watches football. Or TV.
“Honey, yes, it was,” Anna smiles brightly. “And I am going to get you two together!”
“He might have a girlfriend…”
“Nope! He’s single! I saw it on his Twitter last week!”
“Huh?”
Anna holds up a finger as she unlocks her iPhone and goes onto her Twitter. She scrolls for a few moments before holding her screen out to me triumphantly.
@ChristianHicksHFH totally dumped that bitch single life babaaay!
“Anna…” I groan.
“Honey, don’t worry about it,” She smiles the smile she smiles when she gets a good idea. One that generally involves me. “By the end of the year we’ll get you two lovebirds together!”
