The graphite marks on his hands proved that Taehyung had been working extra hard on a new piece in his beloved sketchbook. Watercolour palettes were opened from being used minutes before, but while the finished product of Jungkooks portrait was drying, Taehyung started to draw.

Jeongguk watched with both curiosity and wonder, as strokes of the grey marked the paper. He had become engrossed with watching the artist, noticing his lips curling inwards and his white teeth biting at the rosy flesh of his lips.

So in order for his lips to stay soft-looking, Jeongguk gave Taehyung one of his lollipops. He never really did that before since there wasn't anyone to give them to, but Taehyung smiled at the offer.

"Thanks Jeongguk." He thanked him, unwrapping the hard candy and placing it in between his lips.

Jeongguk just gave a shy smile, going back to the notebook of his. He carried a notebook around sometimes, writing mediocre poetry and jotting down random things he liked. Such as the dark blue flowers by the pond, or the way the cherry blossom floated in the air when it fell, or how the paint on Taehyung's hands matched so well with his tan.

A few doodles were here and there, and it just reminded Jeongguk of what it used to be like. Where his friends would drag him along to the mall and they'd get smoothies, going on to gossip about everything while he sat there writing in his stupid notebook.

"Hey, you okay?" Taehyung was wiping the graphite away from his hands with a wipe, while looking at the small boy sat with him, "You look sad."

He didn't really know what to say, but even if he did, the words wouldn't come out the way he wanted them to. His voice hadn't been used all that well for so long that it was like his voice box had just shut down.

"F-Fine." That's all he said.

He wasn't fine.
