"The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed."

― C.G. Jung

It' s true that we can't force ourselves to love somebody - or not to.

There's a theory that the more diverse our genome is from the other person, the better that person attracts us- the better the person "smells" (literally), which is a way to ensure the genetic diversity. Either way, love's a lot like chemistry: you either are lucky enough to find two components that actually react, or you are left unsatisfied with your result.

The point is, always remember that you can't force yourself to love somebody, and vice versa. Don't expect anything that is entirely impossible, for there won't be real happiness in it.
