It was a fairly breezy sunny day in the woods, the sun was shining brightly, through the trees blocked it's bright rays with their leaves.

The red fox was treading her way into a clearing of the woods, panting softly. She had taken a long walk and was now feeling hungry. She looked around and found her favorite prey target,

A rabbit 🐰

She licked her chops hungrily and started to stealthily make her way towards the rabbit, being light on her paws. The rabbit sensed it's pursuer and tries to flee and escape. She gave chase after it and eventually pounced on the rabbit, catching it in a swift bite.

After catching her prey, she looked up and scanned the area, suddenly noticing something off, this part of the forest was unnaturally dark. She hadn't been around this area before and looked a bit anxious. An eerie wind blows through, rustling the undergrowth.

She carefully sniffed the air to check for danger, and had her ears perked up, but didn't pick up any unnatural scents or sounds. She then decided to eat her meal since she was hungry. The vixen took her rabbit kill near a bush and began eating it.

Suddenly, the sound of rustling leaves came into hearing from behind the fox.

A growl slowly traveled through her throat as she took her kill and backed away from the sound behind her but as she was backing away, some bramble vines suddenly sticked and snagged onto her from behind.

She felt them stick onto her and she tried to move but she can't since the small sharp barbs are dug into her. Her ears flatten as a whine escaped from her as she continued trying to get herself out of the barbs.

But then, coming out of the bushes and standing in front of her was a large male gray wolf.

The fox sees the wolf and she immediately stood still, becoming frightened of the large canine in front of her. Her bushy tail tucking underneath her legs.

The wolf pads toward the cowering vixen, smelling and sensing her fear. He then, goes behind her and gently removes her softly bleeding leg from the prickly bramble thorns, and laps the oozing blood to clean the small wound on her now freed leg.

The fox looks up at the wolf, a surprised look on her face, and her ears raising up from their flattened position. Her tail comes out from tucking and it wags a little, showing gratefulness. She then went to her rabbit kill and picked it up with her teeth.

The wolf then motions at her to follow, saying he knows where the other foxes are. The fox follows him, sticking next to his side. The two then made it to a clearing in the woods, near the meadow, where the skulks usually make their dens around there. The wolf then motions for the fox to go find her family.

The fox gave the wolf a wagging of her tail, saying thank you before taking her leave to her skulk's den. She reaches the den and goes inside.

The wolf then took his leave to his part of the woods, not going too far.

Nightfall soon came around, the fox heard a faint sound, she peeks her head out from the den and listened to the sound. From far in the darkened woods was a long sorrowful howling from a single wolf. The large canid howled from a nearby peak. It seemed to last for the night.
