Ryu kept his head low behind the bushes watching the terrible exchange of blows between the two incredible giants, happening not more than 50 paces ahead of him. All his youthful pride about being the greatest warrior of his village snuffed in the face of such brutal savagery, he was awestruck with the power of these beings.
At 26, he was already a respected member of his tribe, having braved many threats against his people, foremost in every battle against enemy tribes and meeting the monster hordes of the wilderness headlong when they occasionally were desperately hungry enough to attack human settlements. He could claim he had seen all the grotesque horrors his world could throw upon him. Still, nothing before, in his proud way of the warrior, could have surpassed the horror of these two giants he was sneaking upon. The green one, over 2 meters tall and bulging with overgrown muscles, had tusks on his lower jaw. Its arms were easily thrice thick as Ryu's and Ryu had always boasted the thickest arms among his people. The sleeveless body armor on it was practically torn in many places and heavily dented, obviously due to the blows impacted by the huge metallic gauntlet of the more humanly warrior against him. But the green beast was not showing any signs of fatigue or despair. On the contrary, it seemed to be enjoying its fight thoroughly, Ryu could
tell from the occasional bellows it let out, raising its tusks to the sky and from the way it looked much eager to attack its opponent.
