This story is about intro to computers where we learned the different parts and functions of the computer. To be an PC technician you have to have an positive attitude and never give up and keep trying til you have succeed.
On the first day of this class we talked about the things that Mrs.Jordan expected us to do and the things she didnt like for a student to do. She said that the class wasnt hard it was the easiest that you could take. All we had to do was do our work and stay focus and never get off task. Then a few days later we started learning what a computer is and what it do. Like the four operations and what is data. But most of the fun started when we had started doing hands on activity with the computers like standing in front of the class and telling what the parts of the computers do and how they operate in the system unit. We have to keep on doing that until we had memorized the parts. I have learned alot about the computer and how it functions. We learned that the RAM stands for Random Acess Memory which is temporary memory storage and ROM standes for Read Only Memory which is like a book and RAM is like a jounal
Components of the computer
The computer has many different types of parts: like the cooling fan which cools of the CPU when it gets hot, the CPU which is the brain of the computer, the power supply that generates all of the power to the computer and also contains a high level of voltage from 20,000 to 50,000 but the human only can take up to 2,500 volts, also the hard disk drive which is permanent memory storage, the floppy disk drive which no one uses any more because we have USB drives, the daughterboard contains the video and sound cards and the motherboard which the components have to connect to inorder for them to operate, but the most important one is the system unit which houses all of the components.
Things you should do and things you should'nt
You should never open up the power supply because it contains alot of voltage from 20,000 to 50,000. The human body only can take up to 2,500 volts. You should always wear an anti-static wrist strap or an anti-static work mat or you could rube your hands on the chassis because if you don't do any of them things you will kill the components in the computer.
The Little Boy That Didn't Listen
There once was a little boy named Jefferey that took Mrs. Jordan class 10 years ago. He never listened all he did was sat in class and slept all day long. When the bell rong for tutorial he still slept then he got wrote up and got suspended
Next Week
When he had came back the class had already dicussed the power supply and why you shouldnt open them. So one day in class he finally woke up and the class was taking the computer apart and he decided to do an experiment on the power supply by opening it up. Then he saw the capacitor and wondered what it was used for but instead of asking the teacher what it was used for he opened it and was shock to death there was so much impact his head came of.
Jefferey's Funeral
At jefferey's funeral everybody was sad and made the family had kicked Mrs. Jordan out and blamed her for his death. After the funeral was over the ashes from Jeffery being cremated the ashes fell out of the urn and had started floating up in the air
What Jeffery Should Have Done
Jeffery should have stayed awake in class more than he did. Or atleast asked somebody the class had talked about. But most of all he should have asked the teacher what they had dicussed. The only reason that had happened is because he never listened to the teacher and never paid attention and now he paid the price for doing wrong in class
