3rd POV

Charlie's best friend since diapers, Ander Clement. A reckless, sweet kid with black hair, freckles, and brown golden-flaked eyes. You'll never see him without the black leather jacket his father gave him or his worn-out converse. They've almost become part of him, like Charlie. They're attached at the hip Charlie's Mom would joke.

One thing about Ander, he had never actually met his father, he left a few things behind for Ander before the "incident". Ander hadn't told anyone about what had happened, not even Charlie, his best friend.

But we all have things we don't tell even the closest of people. Whenever it crossed Ander's mind though, his hidden "incident", he would just tell himself that and maybe it wouldn't hurt as much

Enough about Ander's "incident", what is he up to you ask? Well, currently he is on the roof of the barn in his backyard, looking over the small town of Appleby. Not a special town by any means, nothing ever happens there.

Despite its name however, there are no apples ripening in the town. Townsfolk do say though, in a field behind a thicket part of the restful village, grand trees would unfurl their branches and gift little red, green fruits of flavor.

     "Ander!" His mother called
"Coming!" He answered back before taking in one last glance of the town with clouds furling over the mountains. Yes there was a golden sunset, but the air spoke that a frosty storm was due.
